I have a Bartlein 1x9 28" heavy # 7 Contour- HV and I do have a Thunder Beast Ultra 338 can to put on it and have a Atlas Kelbly Tactical Action it should be done in a month but the Chassis I cant make up my mind on. I have been leaning to the MDT ACC...Would that be a good choice as Iam not to familiar with chassis.

Cadex or vision.
I have a Cadex Lite in a 6.5 Creedmoor...but Iam having Kelbly build this for me Iam looking to get a chassis to put it in.

I have two each of MDT ACC and MPA BA Comp chassis. Both models are great; I like them about equally. I slightly prefer the MPA's grip arrangement, but the MDT's really long ARCA-rail fore-end has an advantage on some props. Six of one and half-dozen of the other.

But what sets the ACC apart for me is MDT's customer support. Nobody else I've dealt with comes close (well, Vudoo has been on that top rung). My few attempts at engagement with MPA resulted in, shall we say, not as positive an experience. Or there was no experience at all, if "experience" means a response to an input.

If you order an ACC and don't like it, MDT gives you a 30-day window to return it for refund.

I can't speak to other vendors' chassis. MDT has repeatedly earned my loyalty over the past few years, so I don't look elsewhere. My first MPA chassis came on a rifle I bought used from a buddy; I liked it and ordered one with my Vudoo. Then I tried an ACC; I liked it at least as much if not more, and my experiences with MDT support in terms of answering questions and working with me on a couple of magazine issues have made me a fanboy-level customer.

My $0.02.

Iam looking for one that will fit my clone rem 700 action and I was looking at the MDT ACC. or some thing better.
Is your 6.5 a remington 700 or clone? Your Kelby would probably fit in that exact chassis.
If you want ACC go for it but just about any chassis will fit your action.

Visions are similar to the Cadex.

Thank you for being so specific I have 12 custom rifles and the stocks are fiberglass to cavalier. Iam 72 and this is my last rifle and I do like the MDT. Would you recommend a folding stock or non. I have been a bench rest shooter for a long time mostly PPC and I have been reloading since the late 60s it was all lee then. I thank you for your 2 cents. I still have some time the MDT all rigged is close to 3k and this is my first time finding a chassis.

That is a 6.5 lite strait from Cadex and I have had it for a year and have not fired it yet and it has a dead air sandman L can on it.

Iam just looking for a good chassis and the MDT ASS looked good to me. All my rifles do not have any wood stocks...I have been barrelling all my rifles and building others. The resone is Iam retired and sold my boat and got back into shooting and have been reloading my hole life and it coast less than a 50' boat. And Iam in Palm Beach Fl.

I'm only a few years behind you in age. I've been shooting since I was 7 and competed heavily in NSSA skeet for quite a few years. I got into rifle about five years ago after I retired and burned out on skeet. Started with Tikka centerfires and CZ rimfire and moved on to custom centerfires and a Vudoo .22.

Wrt folder vs. fixed: my Tikka TAC A1 had a folding stock, and honestly I never carried it anyplace folded because the folded chassis was so thick it wouldn't fit into any of my cases. The price premium for folders in custom-rifle vendors isn't worth the benefit to me.

For some setups, a folder makes cleaning easier as the comb is easily moved aside. But for my MDT and MPA chassis, it takes 10 seconds to crank the comb down out of the way.

You might be able to find an ACC for less $$ in the PX here, but that involves the uncertainties of availability and trustworthiness of sellers (the great majority of transactions here go smoothly, but...). For me, convenience is oftentimes worth a dollar amount - of course, that varies from person to person.

300 prc is a very long cartridge. I ended up using Accurate/MDT 300wm CIP 3.850" magazines and they worked fine. Had to mill out the front of the mag well in the chassis .125" to take the longer magazines. The top bullet in the magazine is a 300wm and the lower one is a 300 prc.

You think you should of had on2000 sun block when Cali. was nuked...humans are amusing here is a Quote from Einstein for you...
“Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe.”
I have a lot of family back in Cali. I'm torn between them and the thought of cleansing the great state it of the commie infestation that is a cancer soreading throughout this country. If they could limit the nukes to Sacramento, San Francisco, and Los Angeles I wouldn't even be mad. I might even move back to help rebuild.

Well, really didnt mean to ruffle feathers. if you hang around long enough you will notice some repetitive trends among new users. For example lots of guys come in here asking for advice when they really just seek validation. I will try to explain why I said what I did. You claim you didn't know anything about chassis, I reccomended two. turns out you already have a cadex which is one of the best chassis systems out. "but I'm looking for a chassis system". I tried to explain that you could litterally have that exact same chassis system for your Kelbys. Didn't sound like you wanted to hear it or any other suggestions other than the ACC. its a decent chassis. If it was my $1500 I would go with Vision.

Yup and he could of had Local support since their distributor is here in Florida. Plus with the vision you can add Internal weights like i have on mine and external. Also you can go from standard long action to CIP length mags with an included adaptor.

I totally understand I did buy a 6.5 Cadex Lite a year ago and I did not know you could get them to fit some action's until I started reading on this site. So I have a custom made 7 rem mag. Built by Hammond and was going to take the 700 action off it and make a 300 prc. until I started reading. Now I have Kelby making me a atlas tactical action on a bartlein heavy vt 1x9 28" and I dont have to destroy a 7 mag I just had re barreled. So yes I have learned lots here and plan to stay here. I have been reloading since the late 60s all lee loaders and Iam very knowledgeable in that its the stocks that thru me a curve. Iam 72and retired and sold my boat and my business and went back to shooting every rifle I have is custom made and I have 12 of them. I also have 2 scars a 17s and a 20 s that I have no use for I just just bought them just to have and they are new in the box and for sale. Your right about the Vision and the one guy showed his and it looks good. I know it will take some time for y'all to get to now me as Iam just now getting back into shooting...and I do have some worlds records on my wall from my younger days and there was no internet then but there were some very good gun smiths back then. Sorry for my rant but Iam here to stay...great site. Charles
