Assembly was basic and straight forward. make sure to think ahead on what and how you'd like to assemble the RD15 Builders kit.

Both the Barrel and Handguard are mandatory thermofit's, just remember that when you Torque the Barrel Nut down it will expand the Handguard Mounting Area of the Upper receiver requiring heat to expand the handguard for proper installation.

I think he's referring to the Rifle Build kit, not the springs. Never heard someone refer to Spring kits as build kits.

For the Hammer springs the JP Red Spring is my go to.
Ah my bad. Misread his post. JP red are solid hammer springs. I also like geisseles and sprinco.

Thanks @Bigjake83 always appreciate seeing you do these.
+1 on this. Thanks for putting these threads together Jake!

I have a 3 new uppers I just put together so I may start a mega thread tracking my load dev etc for them.

Beautiful looking build! Love the color

Do you have a way to measure the clearance between the glass block and handguard ?

Nice work, as always. I tune my SDE’s second stage pull down-wonder what you’re able to settle on for same. I am good at 1lb. How do you like the SAAE-X after mods and using for awhile? How do they compare to TT’s, knowing the obvious difference in how they arrange stage 1/2?

Okay Boys and Girls I took the new RD15 out for a quickie Range Session between Honey-Do tasks.

The barrel shoots exactly the same as my others Geissele Cut Barrels, very accurate. The Mirage today was just a FPITA!! But still turned in some solid groups.

The Geissele Barrel in the RD15 loves the same handloads as well. I didn't have any 24.3gr TAC, 77gr SMK
Handloads leftover but I did have 5rds of 23.8grs and it easily printed Sub Half MOA.

These are literally the first 20rds down the barrel.

I'll hit the range this week early in the morning and give it a solid break-in. I'm 110% confident if I shoot those four loads again with no mirage none will be over 1/2 MOA.

There's tons of room around the .750 SA Set Screw AGB, I think the closest it comes to touching the inside of the handguard is at the top left and it's exactly a .030" clearance gap which for that style of build is adequate.

The barrel and handguard are very rigid there's no chance there's going to be any contact from handguard flex, I could easily Mil off .020" of that top left side of the SA AGB but its not needed at all.

I can get the SSA-E X down to 2-2.5lbs with a butter smooth first stage, absolutely no friction or grit. The second stage break is literally and crisp.

I did one for @j-moose32, maybe he can chime in and fill you guys in from his prospective.

The TT trigger are not compatible IMO, the hammer is oversized and rides higher than it should creating way too much upward force and friction on the bottom of the Carrier.
