Gents,
We're proud to introduce our enhanced mag catch for the TRG-22 (42 version coming). It's called the Catch Extender, and it allows much easier access to release a mag. You can hit it with your trigger finger with a little movement of your firing hand (finger dependent of course!)

This came about after our testers for the AICS conversion liked the extension we had added. Some people want to run factory Sako mags, so now there's a solution for them. This is for use with factory Sako TRG magazines.

Price is 48 dollars. As usual, we use top notch materials and finishes (Hard anodize and Isonite).

We'll get some pics in this thread soon, for now you can check it out here:

Thanks,
Justin

+1

If/when the folding stock comes out I will seriously consider a TRG.

Gents,
We certainly appreciate the interest! We'll be posting some newer pics of the the stock pretty soon. It's coming along, we're testing and tweaking to make sure it performs. I can't really give a timeline. We're working hard but we have to do things the right way which takes time. We will do a separate post where we show pics and ask for some input on a couple things. We've got some cool plans as far as modularity, but first we can't overlooks the basics.

Hi fellas,

I'm John, Justin's counterpart at KRG. Here are a few pictures of the Catch Extender installed.

Sorry for the iphone pics.

Re: NEW- Catch Extender for Sako TRG

banks74- That's the idea! The TRG is a great rifle, and we can add some improvements here and there. Hopefully, increased aftermarket support will increase the number of TRG owners, who then want more aftermarket support, etc.

Shooter-we're working on it, there's a certain show coming up, maybe we can coincide the two.

Also, we haven't forgot about Whiskey-3 pics, they're coming.

SFT,
Do you happen do have access to a good set of calipers or a micrometer? The reason I ask is because we have seen some pivot pin diameter variations in the 42 which makes it hards for us to nail down a design. Thanks,
Justin

Justin,

been talking with John about this and I owe you some data. Glad to see y'all are doing so good with the KRG project.

Re: NEW- Catch Extender for Sako TRG

Mounted the KRG mag catch extender on my TRG-42 this week and I'm very impressed. This is one of those items that I never really knew I needed, but now that I have it I'll never go back. Installation was a cinch. I followed the included instructions and the entire process took less than five minutes. The only tools required were an allen wrench, a punch, and a small mallet. Construction is rock solid. The rifle looks like it should have come from Sako with the catch extender on it.

Once the catch is on, it allows the shooter to release the mag with the trigger finger. The factory catch requires the shooter to use his support hand to hit the release or remove his firing hand from the grip. Doesn't sound like a huge deal, but it does take some awkward angling of the support arm unless you come out of position. Tapping the KRG catch with the trigger finger allows the support hand to change the mag without the shooter having to adjust his position. I have to recommend this for anyone who owns a -22 or a -42.

Initially there was some concern about these fitting the -42s due to some variations in the diameter of the retaining pins (Massoud can probably give some insight on this), but my catch extender fits and functions perfectly.

SFT,

Thanks for the review and the pics. We're really glad you like the kit. The photos look great!

p.s. I really dig the SPUHR.

Had a chance to put the KRG catch extender to work at the range today. This part is worth every penny. Zero issues with seating mags or round feeding. It's really amazing how this one little part improves the functionality of the rifle.

True story. I was able to use the mag release on SFTexan's rifle and it drops the mag way easier than the stock part. I would pay twice what KRG is charging. There is one on my short list.

Re: NEW- Catch Extender for Sako TRG

I didn't want to start a new thread so sorry for bringing one back from so long ago.

I just installed this extender a few minutes ago and it is so nice and easy to install. Took me a whole 2 mins to install. Can't believe I waited this long for such a great product. It is a lot easier to release mags, and can be done with just the finger tip.

-way to go KRG! Pretty soon my TRG won't be a TRG anymore it will be a KRG with as much stuff I am using on it that is from you guys.
