Shot it about 20 round and sighted it in for a buddy of mine last night. It will extract but not eject it, what should I do? I pushed in on the ejector and it has spring tension and I did not see any brass filings blocking anything. I am sure one of you guys can tell me exactly what to do. Thanks guys

pretty much sits there. It does try every now and then to drop it but it never turns the brass out toward the ejection port.

Yeah if the brass is just sitting there sounds like the plunger is binding up or the spring is weak.

As soon as that brass clears the chamber it should be almost jumping off that bolt.

What kind of scope, how low are the rings, also are there brass marks on the windage knob? The brass could be hitting the scope and going right back in the action.

9 out of 10 times it's a bad extractor or an extractor issue - it will pull it out of the chamber but drop it before it can eject. Ejection is controlled mainly by the extractor that holds onto the brass well and long enough to give the plunger ejector an opportunity to push the case out and pivot the case off the ejector and out of the action - if the extractor lets go of the brass too early you have no or bad ejection. Most people think that an ejection problem relates to the ejector (weak spring, bound up plunger, etc.) but most of the time the issue has nothing to do with the ejector. Sometimes you just need to replace the extractor, other times there is an issue with other things (i.e. like if you lap a bolt face on a Remington 700 that can happen).

I think RCW got it- My SPS did the same thing, perfect extraction but 4 out of 5 times it would fail to eject. Plunger was working fine, in fact I could take the bolt out and just place a piece of brass under the extractor and brass would fly off my hand once I slid my hand off the brass. I finally polished the lip of the extractor with sandpaper folded around the tip of a paper clip, without removing the extractor, and all around the edges of the extractor that comes into contact with brass. Now it ejects just fine. Worst case scenario just order a spare extractor, $12 from Brownell's, and youtube how to replace it.

The OP said this

So it sound like the extractor is pulling it from the chamber and the bolt nose is holding it so by his description the extractor is working and the ejector is failing to kick it out or loose.

I do agree that 99% of the time the extractor is the issue by droping the brass before it clears the chamber but from his description it dosen't sound like this is a problem he is having.
