So a ship carrying Iranian oil to "South" Korea is sunk with possibly loss of all hands after crashing into, being crashed into, by a freighter carrying US grain somewhere with fortunately all lives saved.

Any way to verify that ship with Iranian oil was actually going to "South" Korea not some place "North" of South Korea?

Would be a nice message to two PITA's that the game has changed.

Well this is gonna be interesting. Might have to move this to the "Maritime History" thread.

Can just imagine the mess this is making. Environmentally as well as politically.

    "Condensate"

Sounds like it would be used in making heating fuel oil perhaps gasoline rather than a heavy oil that requires further processing.

If this was NK bound I'd feel sorry for the peasants enduring that cold but I doubt it would have went to them anyway.

Perhaps there are "Don't Tread on Me" pirates in those seas.....

I'm not an oil guy, only a rudimentary understanding of it all from one college class I took. Condensate is used for jet fuel, kerosene, and heating oil, very light oil basically. Needs little to no refinement (depending on end use), basically in vapor form underground when under pressure, and "condenses" once brought to the surface. But again, I'm not an oil guy like some folks around here are.

I would imagine it would burn pretty damn hot, but I still question how hot to scorch the entire side of that ship that quickly. Probably not painted with as marine grade paint as is should be, I guess, but I'm of course not a sailor either. Smelled that shit enough though, and damn sure suffered through enough of their air hammering for prep work prior to painting...

I thought these tankers were compartmentalized to prevent the entire cargo going up.

Did they have a Titanic moment?

Why no visuals of the other ship?

The other was Chinese owned, saw their maritime official discussing it.

I wonder if China is getting on board with the embargo but not being public about it.

"Do what you must do, just don't drag us into the light"

its a feedstock, needs further refining, light ends will burn off quick, no biggie here. Missing crew is biggest issue. Understand the guy steering the ship is former Navy so no surprise here. Keep in Mind our last president allowed Iran to export oil anywhere it wanted to support his friends and fellow travellers in Iran.

I still want payback for this.....

and one fried tanker barely begins to account for it.

That was fucking shameful, and I don't blame the Iranians. I blame the pussy Lieutenant that surrendered without even giving his crew the chance to fight.

Captain James Lawrence would spit on this piece of shit and probably have his ass run down the gauntlet.

Wonder if that guy sleeps well at night or second guesses his night away.....
