Just got a new Savage LRP in 6.5 CM. Looking to put a NF 20 moa 1 pc base on it. Can anyone tell me if the target action requires a different base than the regular Savage actions. NF has their SA Base (part # A168) for the newer round receiver but some other companies sell a specific base for the tgt action vs the standard receiver. Just want to make sure. I called NF yesterday but their tech supp is only open Mon to Thurs. On a side note, when I tried to log in I couldn't and had to register again, anyone else have this issue since the site changed. Thanks.

Some of the bases that have a built in recoil lug like a Seekins won't work because of the closed top action, however, I believe I've seen the NightForce on an LRP before. I went with a Warne 20 MOA Base on my 260 LRP.

Yes, they do have the integral recoil lug on the base. The target actions are not cut out the same as the standard receiver, so the recoil lug will have to be removed. I know the standard EGW scope base does not have the recoil lug, and I have used them before. Good bases for what they are. I used epoxy with mine to ensure that it didn't move under recoil.
