Officer down

Perhaps they didnt have him shackled with his hands in back. He looks pretty stout and if the guards were careless it cost them. Fielder had nothing to lose.

Hi,

Well a lot of jurisdictions do not allow behind the back cuffs while going to and from court.

Black Boxes and full chains are the best solution when behind the back cuffs are not allowed. The black box keeps the inmates hands connected to the waist chain so they do not have full range of movement as you do from standard front cuffs.

Electric belts are also great for transporting inmates to court or anywhere outside the fence.

Sincerely,
Theis

These turds should be dead, time to pull the gloves off. I'd rather be surrounded by good people than bad. Bad has got to go, hit the redo button between their fucking eyes with a fast moving caliber of your choice.

Having read the highlights of the son of a bitch's criminal career, I'm not surprised at his actions, and disheartened that it looks like it was a two-man transport without sufficient support at the sally port. This POS needed his ticket punched a long time ago.

I'm guessing that he was handcuffed in front, when they said handcuffed, I just assumed that it was in the back. The second officer died last night........

My sympathies and prayers go to the families of these victims.

It's a sobering lesson as sometimes people forget why you need really big strong guards. Someone with physical strength, motivation and nothing to loose can cause amazing craziness in a short time when in contact range & guns don't guarantee victory when in grappling range with an able bodied attacker.

That animal should have never made it to the hospital.

Can’t agree more with you. Should have left him to bleed out. Four murders before these two shouldn’t even waist our time.

shackle left wrist to right ankle, behind the back. Should be standard practice. Drag around like the trash-bags that they are. For those who resist, ALSO shackle the right wrist to the left ankle, in the front. For the 'undersized' guards, there are literally thousands of pallet-jacks on the used market that can be used to assist in the dragging.

Not the carrying, just the dragging.

Ban tasers. If you have to pull the trigger, make it worthwhile.

You don't "transport" restrained behind the back. It doesn't happen. You "escort" restrained behind the back. Huge difference. All sorts of accoutrements are utilized in the binding of man. There's a reason this animal was a 2 man transport and I'm confident, unfortunately, that the one that was suppose to be eyes on wasn't.

I'll say this then leave it alone. Where there's a will, there's a way.

It didn't have to happen.

Thats exactly how I used to transport Inmates. Handcuffs, black box, chained to the waits, and connected to leg irons. But Ive seen Older LEO'S get complaintamt and it always turns out bad. Must stay vigilant and alert to make it home at the end of the day.
