Rifle Scopes Official Zero Compromise Optic News & Updates

People in Finland love ZCO.
I have sold few scopes, (not mine, hell no)and i have received extremely positive feedback.
Sayonara S&B PM2, that i so last season scope, even some people are trying to sell it as a best optic in Finland.
SB might be that a decade ago, there is a new king in world, and that is ZCO.
Yep,
Owned many S&B, Kahles, Nightforce ,Leupold and not owned but looked at a TT ......ZCO is the best optic i have ever looked through!! :)

Just ordered 2 more........ 5-27 FDE T5 from our local Aussie distributor...:)

Anyone had ANY issues with focus/parallax "wandering" ? Also...any backlash or "mushiness" with the focus/parallax dial ?

Thanks..

The closest issue we have experienced is an improper installation where the front ring towards the objective is torqued incorrectly and manages to bind the parallax. Try loosening that front ring to see if it moves free after.

Scope ring screws were torqued according to Spuhr.s specs.
Previous day went from "one hole" groups ( SRS A2 300wm) to 2 moa!!! at 100yds
Towards the end focus would shift/jump after every shot.

Re Fitted my trusty old NF NXS and what do ya know...."one hole " groups again..

Returning the ZCO to my dealer and cancelling the 2 others i had on order..

Not sure what to tell you, satellites, fighter planes, and Ferraris break too, just the nature of mechanical things. 🤷‍♂️

ZCO will take care of it. Also, check the Spuhr to make sure the clamp didn't crack.

Yep...absolutely get that..

As i said ..just a bit peeved/frustrated that it has failed..

It makes it more frustrating because after using the ZCO there really isn't an option of "Going Backwards" brand wise!! I have had Kahles. NF, S&B ,Leopold and March...none of these get near the ZCO for optical quality.

My old NXS has been 100% rock solid over the 20 odd years i have had it..i ONLY use it for testing nowadays as i trust it impeccably...

My original post was to ask if ANYONE has had ANY issues ...so if not , then all good ...it just means i got a "Lemon" in this case..

Fair enough, just keep in mind you're probably only getting a small subset of ZCO owners on this forum, and I'm sure there have also been numerous NXS failures over the lifespan of the model, too.

15 is all I’ve ever used with Spuhr (still within spec), and never had one slip.

I’d be willing to bet the majority lean towards 15 vice 25.

Just a thought. Given you like the ZCO optical quality, and the rarity of ZCO issues, seems you’ll regret moving away from them… especially without even letting them remedy.

Not trying to tell you what to do but I would give ZCO one chance, at least, to make it right, wooferacou.
Those optics are really nice, as you already know.

I had my parallax bind on my ZCO527 and sent it in for warranty. Got it fixed and then after about 100 rounds of 308 Winchester and 50 rounds of 300 Norma Magnum the parallax started getting gritty/audible click. I received it back from warranty a second time and all seems well now, but I decided to sell it.

I really liked the scope, but two warranty trips in a year with only range shooting was enough for me. I was using an ERA-TAC Gen 2 Adjustable inclination mount with it.

But I've jammed an AK and have a knack for making things that should work not work. Just the way it goes sometimes.

I think if I was in the States I would have kept the ZCO, but with the international transport time it's not worth it for me.

My sample developed backlash...then a "Gritty" feel....then it would "Jump" out of focus after every shot..
My 5-27 is gritty from the 500 yard mark to the infinity mark on my parallax aswell.
Mines in zero compromise rings torqued to 20 in/lbs
The scopes about 2 months old, Hopefully it will hold on till winter and I will send it in for repair.
If it becomes unusable I always have trusty kahles 525i.

Edit: Retorqued front ring to 15in/lbs like others have said above and the problem did not go away.

Righto..... The faulty ZCO 5-27 has gone back to my dealer. ..

I purchased 2 more 5-27,s....one is going on the Desert Tech SRS and the other is going on the Desert Tech HTI 375ct..

Both will get a good evaluation this coming Saturday.. Lets see how they perform.

Just as a benchmark...this is the SRS 300wm with my OLD NF NXS..

Targets are 200 yds......475yds and the Orange plate is 12"Dia at 1500yds ( 5 shots)

Well, I've not had any trouble at all with my 2 zco's. I have one in an mdt mount and one in tier one rings. Whatever the case may be, I feel sure zco will make it right and do so quickly.

Got to say, that's some very good shooting bud

Just an update....... Had a second ( Brand New) ZCO 5-27 develop a gritty, notch'y Focus /Parallax dial after 200 rounds of the 300wm!!

Scope rings were torqued to 15in pounds..

ZCO have superb glass ...absolutely no doubt about it.... but i now have Zero faith in their reliability...so just not going to work for me.. :(

@gebhardt02 - any comments or insights into the failure mode here w gritty and jumping parallax.

The member above is from AU so not sure these are scopes built here or in Austria.

Curious as well. Have had more than 10 different ZCOs and never had to send one back, let alone every one I touched like this guy.

Have 5 ZCO,s......2 failed ....not all.
If I'm following correctly, which I admit isn't all that close, I believe you said one failed previously and you sent it back. Then purchased two more, and both parallax "failed." So three out of five by my count.

Not saying it didn't happen, just curious to see if ZCO has noticed this as being a prevelant problem. Like I said I've had a pile of these in both magnifications and all of the reticles, and I've not had to send even one back. Just odd that several of yours have failed if it's NOT a known issue.

I guess I misunderstood, however, your post stating the 2nd one failed (before your newest update about another failing) has been edited/deleted so I guess I'm not sure now. Seems odd that those claims and details were edited out though if there's really an issue. Either way good luck. I'll follow for ZCOs response.

How ...can ..... i upload video,s here?

Unfortunately I don't have any insight into what may be going on. Did the parallax "fail" as in it doesn't work anymore? Or just have a different feel to it? There's a difference.

All we can do is politely ask to get in contact with our service team and let us figure out what the deal is, then fix it for the customer. We've always been 100% committed to high build quality and making sure our customers all over the world are extremely well taken care of if an issue comes up. This is absolutely not a common issue, so we need very specific information on the entire set up to determine what is causing the difference in the feeling of the knob for this customer.

The reason i edited my original post was......... i initially wrote my post after Saturdays shoot....contacted my dealer ....i/we decided to give the scope one last try. I put a further 200rnds through the DT 300wm yesterday and the issue actually got worse...so that was it , hence my updated post.

I sent my dealer video,s of the issue...he is not happy with the failures.

As New out of box the focus/parallax dial is firm and VERY smooth and consistent throughout its rotation.

After several hundred rounds that changed to a "Gritty" ..."Notchy" feel....almost like binding. Turing the dial results on noise /clunking associated with the feel.

Ok, so that means something different to our service department team to diagnose what may be going on inside the scope. Gives them something specific to look for, and figure out why. If they can figure out why this is happening, then they have much more testing to do.

Sounds like it is still "working" but no longer with the feel that it should have. We absolutely want to make sure the scope is repaired and that this issue does not happen again.

Several others here in this thread have reported the same/similar occurrence . I have had several Private messages reporting the same??

Was it you or another fella who felt that the parallax jumped upon firing? I may be confused.

@gebhardt02 - thank you for taking the time to reply, particularly on a Sunday. I'm obviously an under-performer as I only have one ZCO scope! haha But, so far its been perfect. Just outstanding and I'm very happy with it so far.

Can you tell us...scopes sold in Australia...are they ones built in USA or is that market's scopes built in Austria? Just curious?

First, the video needs to be online on some selected sites:

Personally, I use Youtube. Create a "channel", upload your vid, post the link here and the vid will be embedded.

As for how to post the link....look above at the banner above the text entry box. There will be this symbol

I remember the old Premier 3-15x50 scopes having a issue with parallex , it was the scope body not thick enough to resist the force of the ring clamping , I had it with one I had .

My theory with these as well...

Moot point from here on for me as I am finished with ZCO.

Mine are ALL going back to my dealer.

Huh, too bad.

sorry for your troubles, the vast majority of us have had nothing but good luck with them.

Given that Gebhardt just got involved this weekend, it doesn't sound like you gave them much of a chance to make things right before you trashed them.
