Ok, quick dumb question on the Mildot Master?

Today I picked up a Mildot Master while at Tactical Tailor (awesome having them in my back yard). Playing around with it I'm very impressed, easy to use and very powerful to get you on target fast. For short ranges, 400 or less yards it's very easy and makes perfect sense. However longer yardage is not coming so easy to me.

So, question. The ranging slide on the left goes up to 2000 yards. However the bullet drop scale on the right only goes to 4.5 mils. My scope has 20+ mils of elevation adjustment. Obviously at 1000+ yards your bullet drop is going to be well over 4.5 mils in adjustment.

So what am I missing? Is there some kind of multiplier you need to factor that I'm not seeing in the manual? Which by the way I read cover to cover.

How big is your target?

Don't use the bullet drop side for your data. Make a dope sheet specific to your caliber and load.

Use the bullet drop side for putting the size of the target next to the mil or moa reading you are getting and then look back over at the range side to get your target range. Then look at your data and dial it on.

I'm able to range the target just fine. The issue is I can't see any bullet drop data as being helpful when the scale stops at 4.5 mils and 1000 yards will be over that amount.

Ok, so basically you are saying use the Mildot Master for ranging only (left side) and ignore the bullet drop info (right side)?

I can do that, and have ballistics data for my bullet drop. I was just hoping to combine that with this tool. Looks like I can just fine for stuff that is 600 yards or less (4.5mils or under). Just not the longer range stuff.

That drop chart is generic. If you want to hit man sized targets anywhere then you can use it but if you plan on using a precision rifle for precision fire then use a dope card that is made for your rifle and load.
