Hey guys. This isn't flame bait here, just honestly curious- I spend most of my free time on this site and have come to know its members and flavor pretty well, but I was curious if you could chime in on the other big ones - snipercentral and snipersparadise, or any others you frequent.

Let me give you a sense for my scale - I'd place Precision Rifles in arfcom at about a 3 in sophistication but a solid 9 in attitude - just a lot of friendly (if a bit naive) new shooters on there.

The Hide ranks high, clearly.

So how have your experiences been with the others? What's their general tone? I will also accept answers on a scale of airsofter to Hathcock

I first started on central and quickly founf out that if you dont meld in with their little clique they got going, you dont belong there. They will belittle you with just about any "newb" type question you ask and always think the ATF will come down in a hellstorm of fury if you say anything remotely innapropriate.
That is why I made the move to SH

Really? I do believe you got banned do to the "I'm stalking people at parks" thread. And a couple others. Not to mention saying members on SC belittle "newbs" as your put it, is a out right lie. SC has a code of conduct that is strictly enforced period.


Each website offers great information. I am a member of SC, SH, and SP. I post mostly on SC, every now and then I post on SH, and never on SP. I would tell you to visit each site, there is a wealth of information out there at your finger tips. I personally love all 3 websites and don't pit them agasint each other. Each has their pros and cons.

the hide seems to be my favorite so far. keeps a faster pace which is good when your looking for help. I do really like the reviews on SC though. It can be frustrating getting a straight answer sometimes here but it usually is because of the DUMBASS questions i come up with lol(im working on that) but so far im happy with the hide. my main hobby for years has been bow hunting, but originally being a gun hunter im getting back into rifles more and more now and the hide has been very helpful with my new (expensive) hobby,thanks guys n girls

I belong to most of them and have for the years I have been assigned to a desk. All offer some good information depending on membership.

I like this one especially because the owner is a Marine infantryman with the scout sniper MOS. I know and trust him.

There are so many barbies on the internet. People can say whatever they want and think of themselves as what they want themselves to be. I am amused.

Oh yeah, and because Lindy is here (I'm sucking-up, as usual); and because I can debate with 41 the virtues of modern strategy, or Voltaire, or Allenby vs Haig; and because others here know so much more about shooting than I do, like everyone at RO and like Bryan Litz; and the aerobatic pilots; and the martial arts guys; and the motorcycle racers like Neil Hodgson's crew chief; and the established competition gurus like Pete Carpentier; and the icons of the trade like Hogstooth; and the pros who are involved in development work like 1SmallJohnson; and the quiet pros like Sinister; and the cops who actually know what they are doing, like Shaggyback and Texagator; and all the regular guys who love the sport and whom I have met and learned from on course(s) and at the matches; and the direct line to top gunsmiths like Randy and George and Roscoe; and the top-notch treatment I get from the big boys as a member of this site, like the day Tom Irwin called to answer a question I had.

after pondering on it, i believe that if there were ever such a thing as "forum feng shui", the hide would be a prime candidate for title of Forum Feng Shui Master!!

the layout balance, the flow of threads, and the quantity and quality of guys that post here frequently, are unmatched in my eyes.

dialogue is typically pretty good, and many times, quite witty!

hell, even the choice of page colors is kinda calming.......

FORUM FUCKING FENG SHUI MASTER!!!!!!!!!!

I am not cool enough to belong to more than one 'sniper' site. I am just a barbie that stumbled upon this site years ago when I was looking for info on how to get better at shooting long.

Maybe someday when I am cool and have figured out all that Lindy and dozens of others have to teach, I will really barbie it up and join every single 'sniper' site I can.

I found that SH is active and interesting enough to keep my attention by itself. When it's not, I sometimes visit Practical Riflery; and WCT if I feel a need to make political comments that don't fly well here.

I do not visit every day, but the Hide over the years seems to have gone through some growing pains, just like any other site out there. But it has settled into a great informational board with good people. Like any other web forums, get past the ass grabbing and BS you will learn to find good information. And learning to discern from BS is also a good education.

I'm a member of SC, but I rarely post there. I like this site a lot due to the colorful members here and of course because this site is run by a cool guy who's not prejudice against Binky Boys.

I found this place when I was looking to buy my PSS after a 11 year wait. It took that long to catch up with stuff so I could finally get my first long range rifle.
The people were mostly pretty dang good, and would always bust a newbies balls with total animosity to see if he had thick skin or was a milquetoaste pussy. Seems these days the milquetoaste pussies are too dang offended so we can't talk about anything that raises a great debate(politics, religion, et al). It was a lot better when a guy could get a real ass whoopin by Mike D, or one of the other experts in the field.

SC, and the other sites are ok, but I just can't seem to get into them because this place is like home or somethin. I'm just happy my skin was thick enough to weather the beating I got when I got here. 41 was here back then with a differnt name too, and one of the greatest guys with tons of knowledge who also cahnged his sn like a pair of bad skivvies was always fun to read :grin"

When I was booted off of Barbiescamocuddlies.com for talking about shock wave eviseration of organs and how it tenderizes the heart better preparing it for the sau'tee I came here. Ain't lukt beck yet.

FU Lindy and FU Shankster, I was going to say I like this site even though it is obviously so popular with the gay community but you kind of ruined my joke.

I'm mostly a trap shooter and find this site very helpful with the technical aspects of long range shooting. It can also be very entertaining.

Haven't spent more than five minutes on similar sites so I can't comment.
