I had a late 60s era 336,but foolishly sold it back in the 90s. I've really been wanting another, but a clean 336 around that age is nearly $1k. Which is nuts since there's a bazillion of them out there.
From what I understand, the Henry's aren't nearly as slick as the old 336s, along with a lot of MiM parts.
All that in mind, the new Marlin LOOKS great. Classic design, real blueing, nice wood and checkering. All the early tests show it to be a winner.
What are the internals like? Did they cheap out, or is it quality, slick and fitted?
Opinions? Keep hunting an older 336 or go with the new Marlin/Ruger?
