Rifle Scopes Optic suggestions for a Mini-14

Am looking for some ideas for my Mini's sight system. I like some magnification, but know the recoil is rough on scopes. Gun is used for hunting(inside 150yds) deer,dogs, and pigs. Am hoping to add an older NV scope to the toy chest, so want something interchangeable. And trying to stay under $400. Thanks for any recommendations.

Go to www.perfectunion.com and look at the Mini 14 section. I have turned my #187 series Ranch Rifle into a 1-2 MOA performer using the tips there. Putting 1911 recoil buffers at both ends of the OP rod and installing a .040" Gas Bushing will tame the harsh recoil. Many feel the Mini was "Over-Gassed" so it would reliably handle even the crappiest ammo. Mine ejected spent brass 60+ feet before the mods. An unmodified Mini will destroy a cheap scope quickly, ask me, mine did just that. I have a Leupold 3-9x40 Rifleman on it now. YMMV ! Joe
