Over/Under timeline before looting/breakins start?

Anyway, if/when it all gets put on lockdown, what’s the consensus for when rioting/loot/breakins begin?

Depends on what area around here (Seattle). Rainier Valley and other crappy areas in south King -- any day now. Local QFC was out of a lot of stuff the other morning, but I was mostly stocking up on the booze...and they were still good on that.

I pulled a few sbr's, cans and such out of the safe and stashed them in various parts of the house so they are concealed but quickly accessible. We aren't in a crappy area, but we are too dang close to Seattle to feel real good if the meth zombies start streaming out of there.

My wife has continued to say her pistol is all she needs.
After I got up this afternoon, she inquired about learning a bit more heavy weaponry. I opened the safe and introduced her to the world of carbines and large smoothbores.
I adjusted the armor to fit her and taught her some basic loading and reloading drills with both weapons.

"What about armor for you?"

"Your safety is and always will be my primary concern. It's not the best scenario, but it's the best use of what we have with current skill set, not to mention you are deaf without that Baja. Just remember armor is "just in case" it doesn't make you invincible."

The wife went to the grocery store today and was approached in the parking lot for a handout. Nothing significant happened but not the norm for that store. I told her no more going out without me. Most people think things are OK! In the Baton Rouge area there is still plenty of food but it could change quickly. I have started staying home as much as I can and being very observant.
But to answer the question, within a week of food shortages I wouldn’t be surprised to see an incident here where a looter/robber got killed and the neighbor hood riots get going. We have seen that here before.

We are hardening the security and buttoning up things at my work in anticipation of the impending “opportunists” overrunning the area.

Also, it may sound crazy, but if you have some acreage around your house, make a range card, fields of fire, etc... Haven't done any of that shit in so long, only ever did it in MCT, wasn't nt even in my MOS. I was just a mechanic, I turned wrenches lol.

Lol, acreage? Im In the city and live at the T of a street. I know just about every landmark in any direction. I get 400yd down the middle, 200yd left and right.

It makes me feel warm inside knowing a "kitted-out" suburbia stands between the city and the smaller towns.

Seriously though, is there a denser armed-up segment of society than suburbia?

Hold the ground boys.

When the inner city folks start wandering around in suburbia looking for “targets of opportunity” they will be overwhelmed by their reception. I’m betting they have no clue how many people will shoot their ass over a roll of Charmin.

Just trained the wife on what to do at 3am if we have activity outside on the property and I needed to go out for some reason. We're on the same digital encrypted setup so it'll work if I use the handheld or plug my helmet in.

She got her ICOM radio figured out which is now on her nightstand. Made sure ours were on the same channels and had her use it as well as tell her what to do/not to do with it. Went over how to effectively communicate over it instead of just go crazy talking into it and then tied it to her going to our centralized iPad in the wall of the house that links to all of the exterior cameras showing 360 degrees as well as inside places like the garage.

Went over what we were calling the different sides of the house N/E/S/W and how to call a target, give the correct information (quick SAL report) and what they were doing.

She now refers to herself as the eye in the sky. lol

I would agree.

Kept right on the edge, but never quite overflowing.

Yep, shitholes like San Francisco, Chicago, Detroit, LA, Pittsburg who knows. But you know what I am talking about.

Most of the assholes that think the world owes them something, might try some shit. I doubt it will be wide spread.

I remember the LA riots pretty well. New Orleans during Katrina was worse than any war zone I have been in. Shit like that.

If I live through this I am going to make a documentary on the armed-out suburbs.

Yall can wear ski masks during the interviews and I will electronically alter your voices to add dramatic effect.

Well, I plan on living through it.
I’m so sure I’ll survive, that I’m planning on only suppressed weapons use to preserve my hearing.
Beside, we wouldn’t want to disturb anybody in the neighborhood.
But my neighbor on overwatch will be using his Barrett...
That just might wake somebody up?

Only house in view is 2328-yards, a rock outcropping at 1400, the top of the nearest peak 1830-yards, and the rest are tree's from zero to infinity.

I can imagine Katrina era New Orleans may have been in some ways similar to Port Au Prince, Haiti in 2004. About two steps from hell.

Went to Walmart to replenish some short shelf life items and to recon. Meats mostly gone including prepackaged deli. TP still gone. Canned items picked over but you could still find something. Maybe not your favorite brand. Same with bread. No rubbing alcohol. Everything else was well stocked including water. Slim pickens in the tampon section. Still made her pick a few boxes 'cause she sure as shit ain't making 'pons out of my precious TP. That shit is for rich fucks. :geek:

Have you tried going to a local grocery store right after opening?

Don't forget to teach her to not impulsively shoot you in the face when you walk back into your darkened house at 0305 after chasing off the racoon.

This^^^ I changed my MO as far as the wifey doing the shopping. She gets a personal escort from me now and I really HATE grocery shopping, I mean, I'd rather scrape dried paint off a house, with my fingernails! I hated it when I was a bachelor and I still despise it and when I got married at 33, I said that's it, YOU got that duty now! My guesstimation is, I'll give it a month and if the supply lines come to a halt, I think shit's going to get iffy. I really hope not, but we live in a "Instant Gratification" society now. For a couple of generations, people have not had to deal with any kind of adversity. Time will tell. Mac:cautious:
ETA: Has anyone noticed, that there has NOT been one word from a Dim, on F'ng Gun Control??
NO mention, NO debate and NO...."Hell yes, I will take your AR14's!"
Hmmmmmm?

I’m sure this has already made the rounds somewhere on the hide, but I woke up to it and laughed.

When we discuss EBT/WIC/Govt Assistance Programs, we have to remember to add bailouts, unemployment, and other income assistance programs to it. Can’t pick and choose the assistance programs to go against. Take the safety net from suburban middle and upper class families and they’ll be indistinguishable from those who live the inner city stereotype.

If it comes to having to worry about engagement ranges from your residence, it’s game over as a whole. Your biggest threat in that situation isn’t going to be rogue factions rolling up in their battle mobiles, it’s going to be from illness.

Would you like to wager on which gets looted, footlocker or brooks brothers?

Nothing to report in my area , Pyrenees didn't get any fresh meat last night. Since the China virus has arrived in my state, 11 cases so far , I've noticed that the traffic on my dead end road has gone from 3 cars a week to zero other than the mail. At that rate it's pretty boring around here , hopefully getting boringer , because correct grammar and stuff.

There's nothing to draw looters and weirdos to my place other than the simple fact that the house is in the middle of nowhere. If they want my stuff it'll be the worst thing that they did that day, shaving their face with a chainsaw will sound like a good idea after they jump the fence and meet 400+ lbs of hungry Pyrenees with a major pack attack mentality issue . If they get past the dogs they'll have to face me and mine personally, the squaw is a fucking redhead and we all know how psycho they get once you cross them.

Well seeing that there are way more FL locations than BB, I’m going guess FL. ...However in a time of crisis, I’m hittin up BB. Gotta look fresh as I lead my gang across the lands. Although TYR Tactical has a set of cammies that feels like someone skinned a thousand baby chinchillas, so I might hit them up too. Literally felt like the most comfortable pajamas ever created.

If this goes on long enough there will be incidents. One thing about the pack mentality is it is only strong when it sees weakness. When the pack faces strength or someone who will fight for their lives. The pack moves to weaker softer targets. So be the strong.

I live in the sticks in MO and things are totally normal where I am. I went to Walmart yesterday and it was all the same, nothing sold out, few people shopping, no one freaking out. But we only have I think 8 cases in the entire state. So, it depends on where you live. In cities like San Fran it is going to be a free for all! With all stores closed and the police not responding criminals are in heaven. I am not sure the media will cover the crime sprees though but it will happen if it is not already. If you live in a city or close I would be more worried.

Hopefully all these people panic buying guns and ammo will realize they need to change their voting habits in November.
That’s my hope too. I think once people and businesses get tired of playing hunker down and start living life again these people will think “well, I didn’t have to use the gun, or these 15 standard capacity magazines during the outbreak, so I don’t see why anyone should have them .” They will go right back to telling us we Shouldn’t be able to own them.

On the bright side, there will be plenty of deals to be had.

Already started in my buddies neighborhood.

That's his neighbor's house. He just happened to be home at the time.... cleaning his gun. Dipshit then walked over to his back yard, where he was sitting and enjoying some time spent on weapons maintenance in his screened-in back porch. Good O'le Dindunuffin walks up to his door and looks square in the face of a hand gun pointed at him. He said the guy fell down 3 times running down the driveway, probably tripping over his baggy pants and had to stop and catch his breath as many times. ?

He has all the luck. ? Buddy said he was laughing his ass off the whole time texting us these pictures. He tripped the silent alarm on his house and the cops came and got him as he tried to hide in the woods.

9 meals is pretty optimistic. Lenin said 3 away from chaos, the Romans said 3 from anarchy, Napoleon said 3 from revolution.

Personally Ive seen 3 be optimistic depending on the local native population density. Katrina wasnt even 1 hour till I got my first one prowling.

So are you saying that you and the dogs are there to protect them FROM the red head? :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

What would one do with the bodies when the anarchy begins? Asking for a friend.?

Won't the zombies/cannibals take care of them during the Apocalypse?

Perhaps I should invest in a tactical wheelchair to move around the fort...crutches and no weight on foot for a while no bueno... as are the stairs outside and in. (n)
