Hi,

Can’t figure out what color Krylon/Rustoleum best matches the McMillian “forest” camo (reference an M40a1 or the HTG page).

Brown is easy, but can anyone here give a better description of the two greens? Here was my attempt, but came out lighter than I hoped. Colors are Rustoleum Dark Brown and Spruce Green satin for the “pattern” and Krylon Colormaster Satin Olive Green for the primary color. As you can see, there is not much difference in the greens.

I assume its the same thing? Might have to find something else to paint as I’m not redoing this stock.

Awesome, picked up some Hunter Green Krylon, going to give it a shot.

Thanks!

Do you have an air compressor?

Really for pretty cheap money you can get a hobby air brush and mix custom colors.

I can sprayed the base coat on my rifle than used the air brush for the over paints.

after getting the colors done I canned the rifle again with a clear flat.

I was after replicating a WWII German "Marsh" camo, conincidentally over McMillan Forest camo.

Its not perfect but it was also the first time, no practice really that I had air brushed. I was shocked how controllable the paint was. Its practically dry/drip free as soon as its on the rifle.

I dont have one, but when I buy an AIAT later this year, I may consider investing the money for the color and control I want for the AI skins.

What kind of paint do you mix? We talking specialty stuff or something like Testors model paint? Not looking to Cerakote because I do not want to build an oven.

Update, touched it up with Krylon Colormaster Hunter Green
