Shots Fired outside McKinney Police Department

MCKINNEY, Texas - A sniper fired at the McKinney Police Department on Monday morning, police said.
The incident happened at about 9:30, when the unidentified shooter opened fire on the building, striking it several times, they said.

The shooter died from at least one gun shot. However, McKinney representative Anna Folmsbee said it was not known whether the suspect's wounds were self inflicted.
There are no other confirmed injuries.
The man shot at the department from a wooded area at nearby Collin College, police said, but it was not known if he had an accomplice.
According to the website for Collin College, shots were fired on the Central Park Campus and the school is in lockdown. Community Avenue, which runs through the college, is shut down.
Officers and police dogs are searching the campus, attempting to secure the scene.
A burned truck located outside the police station could be related to the situation. It was not clear if the vehicle belonged to the suspect.
Police have scheduled an 11:30 news conference to provide updates on the shooting.
