petition to remove suppressors from NFA

Done. No sense in not signing it, pass it along. I remember when a lot of people didn't think SWFA would get 10,000 likes for the group buy and I see that LRI's bolt fluting and action truing threads have about 70 pages. Maybe we (responsible gun owners all over) can hit 100,000 on this and make something happen. It's worth a shot

So what happens when the Feds knock? Is it one of those things where if the suppressor is made in state it they have to kick rocks? I guess as long as it doesn't involve intrastate commerce they don't have much jurisdiction.

Theoretically. If a LEO turns you over to the feds its supposed to be a 2 year jail sentence for them. Its a grey area for sure, I know I don't want to be the Guinea pig.

Suppressors being NFA items is the most ridiculous thing ever. The damn things barely do anything on a rifle. I mean unless your shooting subsonic ammo. It just seems like the dumbest law ever. People watch to much t.v.

I doubt they had too much TV in the 30's, but it's just as ridiculous to say you need a stamp for a 15" rifle or all that other hokery.

There have been countless petetions that have gone way over 100,000 sigs and never got a response. The whole petition thing was Obama's idea and there's nothing that says he "must" respond.

You gotta follow the rules. This one likely does not.

"To avoid the appearance of improper influence, the White House may decline to address certain procurement, law enforcement, adjudicatory, or similar matters properly within the jurisdiction of federal departments or agencies, federal courts, or state and local government in its response to a petition."

Well there you go, that's a broad umbrella "out" for them as this issue clearly could fall under any number of the following:
law enforcement, adjudicatory, or similar matters properly within the jurisdiction of federal departments or agencies, federal courts, or state and local government

The bottom line here though is not the petition but rather the stupidity of pushing a pro-gun petition on the single most anti-gun administration ever. If and that's a big IF you were to get a response, it would go something like this: "In Response to this petition I've decided to sign an executive order banning all suppressors period." /Obama

Seriously, this petition bullshit is a joke in the first place but then to push a pro-gun petition in this environment is just drawing attention to another thing they can take from us.

When you're in enemy territory, it's best to fly UNDER their radar...

The fact that you are referring to the united states as enemy territory saddens me. This is still OUR country, we haven't lost yet. You saw what happened in Colorado, now you should be fighting this harder than ever.
