Not the most impressive deer in the world, but the biggest one I saw all weekend. Seems the summer drought really took it's toll out in West Texas, not as many and they're all smaller than last year not that our deer are big anyway. Shot her in the spine at 40 yards while walking around the property, I was actually calling it quits and heading back to the trailer to pack up and head home to Fort Worth from the stand, the weather was shitty out there.
Load was a 155 AMAX over 46.3 grains of Varget. Muzzle velocity is 2650 FPS. This is my first kill with my 16.5" P-308 and also my first with an AMAX. Scope is a Weaver Tactical 3-15x50. Can't really tell alot about the bullet's performance because it was a close-in shot, and it hit bone, but it blew right out the other side. Here's the exit, I'll keep using it.
