I'm just over the county line into Hillsborough, while there are blue pockets, it's still conservative and getting more conservative.

I’m no fan of Crockett, but what exactly does she have the power to do? Sure she can propose legislation that uses tax money for some economic incentives or vote for something that gives more money for her constituents (again, tax dollars), but that’s not going to cause the people there to pick up their trash, act lawfully and generally be contributing members of society. That’s on them. It’s like blaming a politician for representing rural Virginia or Louisiana for the problems in those areas; if the people don’t want to improve themselves it isn’t going to happen. More money doesn’t improve people, individual decisions do. Money is independent of character.
Acting a like a fool and the resulting consequences are the issue. This also explains how and why she was voted in.

Apparently it’s like that all over. Locally the street enforcement team just arrested 2 guys with drugs, precursor chemicals, pill press in the midst of use, and a few guns. The RCMP press release was deeply self congratulatory. Dudes spent 1/2 a day in custody and were released until the Crown(DA) decides on, and presses charges. I disagree. He needs to be sentenced to death. He’d been reprimanded before IIRC as well; should not be hard to get a conviction.
