I will say it depends...........sometimes I crack myself up.
It depends on how bad things get and how long they stay bad. I don't remember the guys name but he wrote a book about surviving in the former Yugoslavia and it was quite interesting. While things like gold did always have some value things like canned ham had so much more value. Medical supplies even more value, soap was pretty darn high up there as well.
When the world goes to hell the people in hell will care less about gold and silver, they will want good water and some food shelter and warm clothes.

Also don't think you are really going to be "living off the land" the larger game will be gone inside of a month or two, and the garden will likely be defended. You make excellent points but one point that I believe is missed regarding gold. If things go mad max gold is useless, however as has happened before things can be horrible, currencies collapse, people have to move but when rebuilding gold has a value. The fellow from Yugoslavia, Selco I believe was the name, made valuable observations on how things changed in value. Of course if he was able to get out of Yugoslavia earlier gold would have been very helpful in those areas not in such despair.

I think many of us have been feeling…well, something…for years now. I know I have. A slowly building angst, and sense that something’s just not right. But as men of action, and raised to not bitch about the how or why, we just put our heads down and work harder to move forward.
Smarter, or maybe I should say ‘more aware‘ folks saw the “how and why” a lot sooner than most…including me, but the left is getting so literally crazy now that everyone’s waking up. And ironically becoming more and more anti-“woke” LoL
