People get the governments they tolerate and put up with. Complacency breeds hazardous conditions, just like how a building filled with lazy and neglectful occupants becomes a cluttered fire hazard in no time. If just 10% of the population had the same mindset as a certain Mr. Gao from Wuhan last year, the lockdowns would have been LONG over, and the mortuaries would be overcrowded with bodies still clad in hazmat suits sporting various stab, slash, burn, and shrapnel holes.
