I can't tell you how true this statement is for me and I'm sure for most of us. I should have been dead at least 6 times in my life. Working around high speed trains should have killed me at least 4 times in my 34 years of railroad work. I had 1 train that reported me dead and my Supervisor was actually notified. Another time I was concentrating on a task and a 120mph train actually snuck up on me. I looked up at the last moment and just threw myself backwards. The most terrifying time was when I was working in a gang and we were digging between the rails on a curve. We had people out who's job was to look for oncoming trains. Well, they missed this one. All I could do was to duck into the hole we were digging and have the train run over me. So, really I guess I was reported killed 2 times.
Be careful out there. The most mundane task can be as dangerous as any high risk job.
My point is they know how the military/potential military folks vote.
Also they know the average don't have a clue what's going on politically.
