New member here, this is just my second post. I've looked at, and drooled over every rifle in this thread at least twice. It also served as inspiration, and in some cases a shopping list for my rifle.
I just got back from my smith here in Rapid City, my re-worked Remington 700.
It took me 7 months to get to this point, mostly spent waiting on the stock from McMillan.
She started life as a Remington 700LH BDL in .308 and is still chambered in that caliber.
I can't remember where I came across this thread, but as I said, it served as inspiration for my rifle.
Stock: McMillan A5, 80% black, 10% white, and 10% grey
Barrel: Shilen 5.5 cut to 20" and threaded
Scope: Vortex Viper PST 4-16x50 w/EBR 1 reticle
Rings: Vortex 30mm matched rings
Bottom metal: Battle Arms Development
Mags: Accuracy International
Suppressor: Lane Scorpion King All-Titanium 30 caliber
Bipod: Caldwell
Bolt Handle: DD Ross
Checked the weight, and fully loaded with the bipod she tips the scales at 12 lbs. But it doesn't feel like 12 lbs.
I have only had her out to test fire and break in the barrel. I'm currently not able to do much more as I'm out of commission due to recent fusion surgery (C5/6).
Using Hornady 150gr Whitetail Hunter, I was able to get her mostly dialed in.
(Don't mind the flyer, one of the bags on my Lead Sled fell off just as I pulled the trigger.)
I've still got work to do getting a good load for her, which will be fun in and of itself. At least she's dialed in enough to do a little deer hunting with later this year.
Thank you all for the inspiration.
