Re: precision rifles... show em

B. Harvey,

Is that a front sight block I see mounted on the front of the Hart barrel on the Rem 700?

If so, is it screwed on, mounted with a barrel band, or is the block dovetailed into the barrel?

Who did the work?

Nice Stick.

Re: precision rifles... show em

Hey Jim. I don't think it's still made. It's a 2013 action and this stock was a $500 upgrade from Anschutz. I'm the 3rd owner. I do have a friend that has one exactly like it, met him at a 22 match in Alabama. I love the rifle but would really like to get a 54.18 MS repeater.

Re: precision rifles... show em

It's hard to compete with some of you guys, but I'll play.

Savage 10FP .308 26"
McM A2 w/ Adj Cheekpiece
Farrell base
Leup 3.5-10x40 M1 LR w/ Gen 2 MilDot in QRW rings (because I had them)
Harris SLM bipod
9568dcf0.jpg

Springfield M1A / M21 forgery
Arms #18 mount
Springfield 4-14x56 Govt Model 7.62 (yeah, I know  ) in Burris rings
TIS sling
Modified Cherokee Cheekpiece
0682d745.jpg

This is usually set up as just the bare bones M1A. And, before someone mentions it, the bipod is backwards. I'm just using the one from the Savage to hold up the front end

It's not about competing, it's about sharing our different approach to the perfect rifle.

I learn alot just looking at these

Re: precision rifles... show em

I know what you're saying ss. It was just an off-hand comment. The only person I really compete with is my brother. And that isn't an equipment thing either; it's all about ability, his quite remarkable inate talent and my hard learned, and only slightly less effective, ability .

Re: precision rifles... show em

Here's mine.

Once I get all the other stuff done for it I'll post another. Right now the bolts on it's way to HD Rifles and my Leupold scope's on order.

Savage 110FP .300WM pre accutrigger
Choate US stock

So far I have still only put one round thru it when it was stock. I hope to sight it in this weekend. I am also still debating on whether or not to camo the whole rifle, i want to but it is a scary thought to start...

luke, sorry, i totally didnt see that post, i have never had a group over 1/4" at 100 with cheapo winchester white box 45's, and shoots around 1/4" at 200 with BH's 77gr loads. 1-2" st 500 yards with no-calm wind.

cory

nate, lindy, and JB, it does shoots under 1/4 at 100 with no wind, my 200 yard groups was a typo, i did have ONE 1.4" group at 200, but they are normally about 1/2", or so, my 500 yard groups average are around 2", and i have had a couple 1" groups, but that may have been luck, ill be out shooting this weekend, and ill be sure to not leave teh targets, the other ones got thrown away buy somebody, ill do some 100, and 200 yard grouping for a little proof, and post it under the range reports section, and ill try to have pics up by next early next week. no im not a troll, liar, or cheat, all these groupings were done early morning, a couple hours after sunrise, in NO wind conditions, about 70 degrees if i remember correctly altitude about 7, or 800, and if im not mistaken it was cloudy too.

Re: precision rifles... show em

wanted to update my post with something that I found out today...

well to start I had planned todays shooting trip for quite sometime and had bought some ammo from a guy on the site and expected it to come in yesterday...well it didnt show up, so in a pinch I picked up some winchester hunting ammo from Wally World to see what it would do out of my Remington 700VS (it's completely stock except for being recrowned...theres pics of it above on this page)

what the result was amazed me...it grouped like this all day long...I don't know if you guys will thuink it's good, but I think it's awesome that it will do that with hunting ammo

heres the pics (sorry for the size)
