Question for special forces(and anyone else who ca

Re: Question for special forces(and anyone else who ca

Here's the deal, I tried to join a conversation and just express my opinion. But all the tough guys out there with their "I've seen more combat than you and I'm gonna prove it" street creds wanted to flex their internet muscles at the new guy. If you want to call bullshit then go ahead. I don't know who you are and frankly don't really give a fuck.
The truth is I don't have to prove anything to anybody except the people on my left and right when leads flying. I have done so in the past and I will do so in the future.
I made the mistake of sharing something I did that I thought I could have done better. I did so thinking that it could be discussed as an AAR not as a platform for slander and bias. I didn't realize that I was to be judged by the cover children of Soldier and Fortune.
I realize now that I am the only one that has made a mistake in combat. From now on I'll keep them to myself and pretend that I am an invincible gunslinger that knows all, and that because I've been to combat I can say or do no wrong. Instead of replaying every situation I've been in and looking for a way that I can do it better next time, I'll just pretend that I am god and that I can't learn from anything I've done or anything anyone else says.
I wouldn't sit around and criticize you for choosing to throw a hand grenade instead of engaging with your rifle while in a combat situation. Because I wasn't there. Who are any of us to criticize the guy on the ground in the fight. Unless you were there, then you really have no say.
So for all you arm chair quarterbacks. Mr. Masters of War you who havn't posted your own "creds". And remember a high number of posts on the hide isn't verification of your qualifications. Take a good look at your own bullshit.
Remember this is the internet and anyone of you, just as I, could be a hairless Asian boy taking time off from his yard work to come post a reply.
For those of you that I learn from on Snipers Hide I thank you for imparting your shooting experience and knowledge with me. For those of you that want to prove yourself by slamming some one else you don't know, well if it justifies yourself in front of others as a dealer of death, then have at it.
In summary, there are some good people on here, and I enjoy the diverse shooting skills. I learn something new every time I log on. That is why I am on this site.
V/R,
Me

Don't send a handgun round to do a rifle rounds job...

On the back end having some Sig552 experience - dont use really short 5.56mm guns either 7-8" barrels have no business in the 5.56mm arena.

</div></div>

Sounds to me like the wrong tool (maybe the wrong ammo) for the job was used. Maybe there was no choice at the time but a mid-fullsize rifle does have its limitations in certain scenarios. There are times where a PDW would be adventagous.

Yeah it's Ed from 37. I hit some hard times, and when that happens you find out who your real friends are. People you thought would stand beside you sometimes just turn their back instead. </div></div>

I was just asking Ed, no worries brother.... just trying to figure out what all the shit talking was about.

There are some real assholes on here... I can't figure out what all the shit talking is about. If all the people on here talking shit have really been in combat, they would know everything doesn't go right on every mission. Plus most of the people talking shit don’t have SMGs assign to their PLT or Squad (notice I didn’t say TM or ODA)... and if they are LE; they more then likely have never used their pistol let alone a SMG in a gun fight. Hell I used to carry a UMP when walking dismount in markets… does that make me sound like a poser?

Re: Question for special forces(and anyone else who ca

I've stayed in some pig pens and in an interservice setting heard some of the AF personnel say they got extra $ in the same place due to sub-standard housing.

This should have ended it. Can't believe how fast this threat went downhill. JJ I don't know you but if I'm ever back out at Bragg would love to pick your knowledge basket. I'll show up at range 37 with a closed mouth and open ears. Just promise me you won't make me go back to secrets...

Which is why you should go to the Pope AFB chow hall.

We save a lot not buying all those fancy new guns and things that might hurt people and so can afford to put the money into nice Dining Facilities.

Anytime, except for the closed mouth portion. A 2 way flow of information is vital. That's how we keep the school updated. I just left 37 but am still on Bragg. Send me a PM if you are coming down. We'll hit up pure gold in SoPo. I can't vouch for the quality of VD you'll catch there compared to Secrets, but I'm sure it'll be sufficient for at least a peanut butter like consistency shot to clear it up.
Wow! My ability to write run on sentances is unmatched. I really need to work on that.

Oh, they bite all right. And you are going to need more than just tetanus and rabies shots afterwards!

Re: Question for special forces(and anyone else who ca

As for chow halls, the brits have the best but the worst food. They did make us fresh rolls everyday though. Nonetheless the worst galleys are on CG bases because we have no money, but our cooks make some decent chow. With that said I don't like staying on Army bases, I'd prefer to sleep in my car.

Re: Question for special forces(and anyone else who ca

Paul,

Don't know if I agree with that. My father was a chief bosuns mate on several USCG cutters and a couple bouy tenders. One of the highlights of my upbringing were trips to the boat with dad for breakfast or lunch as a lil guy.

Dad was really Pissed Off at the captain one day, as he had reassigned his best deck hand to the galley. A few weeks later, he said it was the best thing ever as that guy managed to stretch the mess allowance further and better than ever. Learned from that how important grub was to the average guy, and used that many times in my own life. The guys on the shop floor, enjoy watching the sales guys cook lunch all morning and serve them at lunch time.

Sorry for the hijack, brought back a good memory there!

A specific purpose built long gun subsonic round...

That will kill the SD's

</div></div>

Good! They were fun in training. But, I carried one into Grenada(MP5-SD), back when they were <span style="font-style: italic">fashionable</span>, and man I felt naked. They just don't have the necessary punch.

That .300 AAC may just be my next build. I can't have a suppressor though.

I called it the nine pound BB gun</span>

Special Forces !!

Special Forces guys are pussies !!

and for the record, we would all be better shots if ? say you could walk out the front gate walk up to the top of the hill and grab all the ammo you want have a out of training student carry it and meet you at the bottom of the hill just on the other side of the road and shoot all you want, just saying
