Looking this up though, AI/ searches are dumb. This below only applies to muzzleloaders.
AI can’t count fingers or calibers…
Hence why it's dumb. It knows enough that guns are sized in caliber so it searched caliber which is only listed under muzzleloaders.
For rifle it lists centerfire with expanding bullets. That isn't a caliber.
The clerk in a gun store explained to a new shooter that he should grease the bore of his rifle after cleaning it so the bullet will slip through easier. This is not a joke, I was standing near enough to overhear it.

In Texas, one might get away with hunting deer with .22LR. But on public land, it has to be center no smaller than .243 W. So most 6s would be okay and so would 6.5 ManBun. I hunt with either a .308 W or 7 PRC. A colleague hunted big horn sheep with a .300 WM (better for wind holds at a few hundred yards than a .308.)
You can also use, at least on the land managed by the USFS, 12 ga shotgun slug or shot. And archery. Most counties allow crossbows. The only places they are restricted is Grayson, Collin, Dallas, and Rockwall counties. You have to have a doctor's note explaining why you need a crossbow to hunt. No doubt some stupid fudd thinking.
