Raleigh police bid farewell to a friend and fellow officer Saturday afternoon. William Bunn, 8, was buried with full police honors, including a flyover by a police helicopter.

Very bittersweet story.

Kind of hits home today as here in Tampa, it's been an agonizing and largely sleepless week for a couple friends of mine due to the cold, senseless murder of two of their fellow officers.

My hat is off to Chief Dolan for doing what most chiefs would not do especially in this budget crunched environment......

A damn shame Tampa lost two Officers... That makes almost 90 LE deaths this year. One of them had 4 boys and the other was expecting a child. His wife was 9 months pregnant and one of the articles says she went into labor after the murders. I hope mom and baby are OK......
