Recreating 7N1, some recommendations

I've been trying to recreate 7N1 in ways more available than the original. I know I'm not going to get the mild steel tip, so what I need to make happen is find a similar weight and BC bullet to use. Specifically, my goal is make a load that aligns better with the BDC turret of the PSO (Which is calibrated for 7N1.) Does anyone have any projectiles to recommend? Thanks.

BC: Hard to find consistent numbers, but around .402
Sectional density: 0.226
Velocity: 2700 FPS

I reload this caliber, and the bullet selection is very poor. You're probably not going to have much luck in that. Have you slugged your barrel just to be sure? I know most Privi has a 150gr bt bullet that's similar but, not sure of it's bc. The 7N1 projectile is a measured .402 g1 or a .216 G7. You could try to screw with privi's bullet and adjust the velocity to mimic the 7n1's flight path, or maybe find another projectile that has a closer bc and do the same thing.

Hornady FMJ bullets actually tend to shoot OK for a bulk FMJ bullet. Not 0.5 MOA, but often times in the 1-1.5 MOA range.

That being said you mention having used these, but you don't know how they perform? Either they shoot well in your rifle or they don't?

If you want to replicate a specific load velocity I would use a single base stick powder as they tend to have fairly linear velocities compared to charge weight.
