Red Tac stock pack and dog bone bag questions ...

I'm looking for a rear bag and a stock pack and I found a review/article explaining that the Red Tac stock pack was different from the Eagle in that the cheek weld could be added to to raise the height. There were no pictures, though. However I was unable to find a red tac stock pack listed anywhere, including Redman's site.

Is this item still being made?

Are there other packs that allow one to raise the cheek weld?

Better to just glue foam to the Eagle pack?

Also ... anyone know if the dog bone style rear bag is tall/firm enough to use with a 13" Harris bipod in front? It looks like the Red Tac at 6" would be too short to work with my scout rifle and it's 13" harris.

Red Tac does not make a stock pack copy, but if you send them a Eagle Stock Pack, they will modify it for more height.

The problem is that I dont know of a single dealer that has any color of Eagle Stock Packs in stock (I have some lefty but no right). I have over 500 stock packs on order, but no ETA for them from Eagle

Here is a good link for some rear bag info:

Re: Red Tac stock pack and dog bone bag questions ...

Thanks Steve. I can actually use a lefty in the large shell holders, as I've tried it a couple times with others' rifles. Should I assume a lefty Eagle pack would probably work OK for me as well?

I've also been told the basic RedTac rear bag works fine - when used upright - with a 13" Harris.

If you think the lefty pack will work I'll put the order in asap.

Thanks for the info.

Edit ... Got a MultiCam lefty pack, MultiCam RTG bag, and a Harris 9-13" swivel in the cart. Said these were in stock.

Shoot ambi ... trying to find pics to see if there's enough room to squeeze my big head over it when switching.

Larue Tactical has a stock pack with no pocket on either side on their website for sale. I dont know who makes it or anything like that but I would think that it would work for either side.

I think they probably ran out of Eagle Stock Packs for their "Pack, Rail, Rings" Package Deal and had to come up with a new stock pad for that.

Good Catch.

Re: Red Tac stock pack and dog bone bag questions ...

Last night I realized that even though I can shoot either hand, my partner for the Pasquotank comp is pure lefty. I looked at close-up pics of the Eagle rig on the SKD site last night, and it looks like I might be able to squeeze my head over it when shooting righty. But I may just throw one of my special handi-dandi space material cheek risers on it. The new gun gets in Monday so we will have lost another weekend for practice. May need to just stick and move with what we got.

Since Eagle is not available, does anyone have any experience with the Blackhawk offerings?

I may have to try one simply because I am just about out of time for my upcoming need.
