I have been feeding a dozen or so hogs for two months and never could time it right to catch them under the feeder so I decided a trap was in order. I build a figure 6 trap but being 45 miles from the property I decided it was best to leave it wired open and shut it on the weekends when I could stay to keep an eye on it. Then it clicked to remotely watch and shut it. This is the result from last night, first try.

I'm about 1/2 mile from the trap. Also a note of interest, the 40+ knot winds we had didn't seem to affect the hogs. The large boar in the middle was shot around 7:30 (while I was still watching the feeder in person) and the other two came in at 10.

Re: Remote control hog trap

I would love to discuss this little operation with you. Would you mind shooting me a pm with a contact #

I am a wildlife biologist and deal with hogs a fair amount and I am curious about the amount of time and $$$ this set up runs...

Thanks!
