My experiance with duracoat has been once duracoat always duracoat.
Sand blast and repaint. I have tried stripper and if it has been done the right way then it won't come off clean.

Strangedays is right.. I've duracoated a few XDs. If it was put on correctly that duracoat will not come off. Your best bet is to coat over it in the color of your choice.

Oh it will come off! acetone witll take that bitch right off. Swab some on with a Q-Tip and let it soak for a couple of minutes then start rubbing.

Checked the Acetone again and letting it soak over night it did not even touch the finish. I would like to know where you got your research from?

Re: removing duracoat from plastic?

Just blast it. You should be able to clean it afterward, and go back to pretty much factory, unless a very course sand was used. otherwise re-coat it. I agree with others as far as acetone. If it was prepped and coated properly, I have never seen any chemical that would cut it.
