rifling twist

[GOING FOR 2000]

I have a Remington 700P in .308, Rem replaced the weapon (shot the throat out at 819 rds the replacement shoots 1.4 mils right at 1000 yds. but will put one bullet on top of the other at 200 yds. Rem has rechecked the gun and it within their specs but they only test to 100 yds. I am thinking about a Kreiger 3 grove barrel but have no idea what best twist I should get.
LOAD 175 Gn. SMK at 2600FPS
42.8 Gn. Reloader-15
All components weighed and matched.

Any recommendations would be appreciated.

there are a lot of variables that might be causing your problem. perhaps you might want to send it in have it looked at by a pro before the expense of a rebarrel and get his thoughts. a lot of quality barrel makers out there, bugholes usually has some in stock.

Put a 1-12 and you can shoot the heavy bullets in it past 1000 yds. That's what the guy on the phone at Krieger told me a few years ago and he was right.

1 and 11.25 is pretty good for 308.
