Thanks to a few threads that I found on the hide I got the never to krylon and bed a stock.

I received a rough Rem 700 SA HS Precision LTR stock with a purchase a while back. Someone had removed the paint with sandpaper or something very abrasive. Well it was still a good stock.. it just needed a little TLC and a few minor repairs.

I used Marine-Tex to fill in the chips and to add "grip texture" to certain areas. Then I went crazy with Krylon rattle cans. I beeded it with Marine Tex too...I used the bedding thread that I found here on the hide.

I may paint the action and the pod when I put a 6-9 pod on it.

Today I was able to get it to the 100yard range for the first time today.

Great job! I'd like to know what you ended up using to create the texture. Sandwich bag, tongue depressor, the Force? Looks good whatever you used.

usmcMT I hope to try the 155's soon

thanks dantrom I like the feel of the texturing more than I thought I would.

Kbrady I put the marine tex on with a tounge depressor and then used my hand in a ziploc bag to get the texture raised up... it was easier than I expected. After it dried, I had to file the SHARP points down. Even after the filing the grip of the texture is very nice. I did go a little crazy with the texture but O'well LOL.
