**ROUND4 !!** 100YARD+, SEMI-AUTO, 6group, 30round SHOOTOUT!

92 meters is 100.612 yards what is wrong with that? Nice shooting by the way!

yup. As a general rule I add 10% to the meter number to get yards. Learned this coaching archery. Its not perfect but usually close enough to get the job done. This guy should be fine with 92 m.

Truth be told, I did absolutely zero math to see if it would qualify... Thanks for helping!

looks to be in the .68-.7 range.... Don't hold me to that. But nice shooting nonetheless!

Edit: Was much better, some great shooting indeed

Thank you all! The gun can do better; the test target is a .277" and I've got a 0.11" group from this gun.

I noticed it started vertical stringing about half way. I was glad that it didn't eff things up too bad.

In all of the years ive been doing the shootout threads i think that just might be the best 308 AR groups / average ive seen. I dont think you guys understand how hard it is to get groups like that with a 308 AR. Wow, nice work bro!

I missed the whole 100yd+ requirement. LRF showed 92m. Hopefully, MoBoost will give me an honorable mention.

The new Larue rifles appear to be absolute hammers. I may "need" one.

Can you post the picture of the whole target with calipers or a quarter on it, try to take a 90deg pic. Thanks.

Hi MoBoost,

Here's the picture you wanted. I hope it'll fit your requirement.

It took me Several Tries and A Lot of Ammo to get the set of groups I wanted. Here's another set of six shots that I tried that day for your reference. Let me know if there's anything else you need. Thanks.

OK, for your amusement. I have tried this 4 times, never getting past 10 rounds before frustration set in. Today I completed it. Beautiful day, slight breeze.
Although I have been shooting most of my life, I have never tried to perform any precision shooting from a bench or prone.
After watching a bunch of Lowlights Youtube videos on setting up the scope, body positioning and trigger control, I have failed to do that instruction ANY justice.
About mid-way, I had cramps in my grip hand and sore neck muscles (shrug).
Some shots with a rear bag and some shots without.

Please do not think my shooting is a reflection on my rifle or the ammo I was using, it was not, I just blow.
Only change to rifle from original is a trigger replacement using a CMC 3.5lb single stage flat trigger.
The rifle had about 30 rounds through before today.
It was fun and I'll keep on working on this. It will be fun to chart my improvement.

Mines an older one, built in December of 2012. It has a Lothar Walther barrel. The LaRue made barrels are doing pretty well, also, as evidenced by the tOBR above.

Name: Raivkka - sorry, the entry will not count since it's not on one piece of paper per rules. I would highly recommend getting shorter bi-pod - the high position puts very high stress on your neck and shooting arm for no reason; get comfortable - watch those groups shrink!

Rifle: Ruger SR762 308Win 100yards
Average: 2.619 MOA
Best: 2.093 MOA
Worst: 3.315 MOA

Had a couple of shots land on this target from sighting in another rifle, I circled them but count them in if you feel it's fair; that's what I get for leaving the target out I guess.

Thanks in advance.

My entry.... LaRue PredatOBR, 16" .308 shooting factory 175 gr FGMM. Nightforce 3.5-15x50. Thinking I could better this effort from yesterday, I wrote the group sizing on the target (sorry). My groupings today were slightly worse. My eyes aren't what they used to be so please do your magic with the OnTarget software. I've watched all of lowlights videos (multiple times), but still have a good bit of improving to do.

My target.

The rifle as it was shot.

My attempt..... The rifle is a LaRue PredatOBR, 16" barrell with a Nightforce 3-15x50 scope. I don't do my own reloads yet, still practicing the fundementals on factory ammo. For this exercise I was shooting 175 gr. FGMM.

Here's the rifle.

Here's the target. My eyes aren't what they used to be, so don't let me group size numbers influence you. Do that fancy stuff you do with the software and see where it comes out. I've watched all of lowlight's videos (multiple times), and still have a ton to learn.

My latest entry. The rifle is a LaRue PredatOBR, .308 with a 16" barrel, Nightforce 3.5-15x50. Shooting factory 175 gr. FGMM. Been working hard on the fundamentals and have watched all of Lowlight's videos, multiple times.

Thanks Elfster, and everyone else. I never really shoot 30rds at 100yds, unless I have a chance of winning something back to pay for the time and ammo, lol. I try to shoot everyday, but the .223 that John helped me with is just a laser, and I shot the 1st 30 thinking it was still going on, but when I saw it hadn't I just had to shoot 30 more. I hope to be able to get in the next rd as well, but dunno, we'll see. I wish I had a target camera that I could post some videos with. The gun is a blast to shoot, and one of my boys said he was gonna shoot in Rd 5, so he's training on his AR right now, lol. Good shoot guys.
