I’m not sure if anyone is aware of this caliber ?
It is available in Europe. Very similar to the 308 Winchester. Apparently, you have to reload by trimming and resizing 308w cases. There is no ammunition for this caliber on sale commercially . This is produced because the 308W caliber falls into a special category requiring a special license in Europe.
Does anyone know why having this caliber rifle even with the hastle of obtaining cases, would benifit the long distance shooter over someting like the 7.08 caliber ??

shortening the barrel could improve accuracy but not long range performance, I think that the 7mm 08 is far superior to the 308.

Well the improved accuracy (from a shorter barrel) will improve long range performance. How ever the shorter the barrel the less fps. You will find there is a happy medium to be had between length and "feet per second". I like 18-22" barrels. Short, stiff, accurate.
