I may have a job opportunity in Seattle and I'm wondering what to do with my SBR. My tax stamp literally came through last week. It's a kickass build, damn near all Noveske parts except for a UBR stock and Geissele trigger. I haven't even shot this sucker but am worried now that I may not be able to take it with me.

My question is this: is my SBR'ed lower illegal in Washington state? Or is it only illegal if I actually have a SBR upper mounted to it? If that's the case, then I may let my buddy use my upper on his SBR until I move back out of the state. Of course, I'll verify all advice given through an attorney but I still just wanted a preliminary answer.

Don't quote me but I am about 99.8% sure your lower is fine, unfortunately WA was moving in the right "gun" direction before all this hoopla kicked off, even talks of legalizing SBR's now its going to be a while.

Doh! I just realized I posted this in the wrong section.

Thanks for replying. I figured the actual gun itself would be the issue, not the registered lower. If I get the job, it looks like my buddy will get to babysit my lower until I can own it again. Well, at least Washington state is better than Maryland.
