I have a S&B PMII with P4 fine (1/4MOA) on my TRG42.Zero at 100m.Shooting a 250gr Lapua Scenar at 3030f/s. According to Isnipe on my Iphone 4 it will require 88 click(22MOA) to get to 1000m.Can anyone verify this?Calibre .338lapua.Scope is in the 1st focal plane 5-25x56

Re: Schmidt&Bender to distance 1000m

Im not asking 100% accurate, just an idea still learning,it would be about 32 celcuis, altitude 1650m,angle to target 15 deg downwards, location South Africa.
Why the cocky remark?Im just asking for help not an argument!

Re: Schmidt&Bender to distance 1000m

Don't feel attacked Marco,
It's just that Met-conditions plays a hell of a roll and at 1000m 1/2 mill-rad click is a full 0.5m POI shift, so it is very important knowing the altitude density... it’s a Factor of barometric pressure altitude and temp. And that's excluding angle to target.
Use a co-sine indicator if you can find one. Think Safari & Outdoor's got one. Use the number under the line & multiply your range with zero-decimal x reading x distance. Now use dope for the calculated equivalent distance…
IE:
Rangefinder distance = 350m
Co-Sine reading = 85
Equivalent distance is 0.85 x 350 = 297.5m
Dial in using your DOPE for 297.5m and hold dead on.
Remember to use actual distance & flight time for moving tgt hold over & wind…
Hope this sheds some light on the question…
If I mixed things up, please correct me guys…

Re: Schmidt&Bender to distance 1000m

Thank you for the link Trio,
Granted that your IRR is better than the RR, but I doubt that Marco needs that detailed explenation at this stage.

BTW, Congrats on the mention in the published page.

Where are you guys in SA?

I studied in U. of Pretoria back in the early 90's, and have many friends in your beautiful country

Raven, I just mentioned the IRR because it is just as fast and easy to use/remember as the RR, but more accurate.

Re: Schmidt&Bender to distance 1000m

Sure I remember the good old days and gorgeous afrikaner girls... I toured all RSA and neighboring countries by car and also backpacking, almost stayed in SA but came back to Paraguay, I prefer our local flavor of political shit.

Do yo know that most jakarandas came from paraguay?

Sounds pretty right to me- perhaps a tad pessimistic.
From top of my head, near sealevel it should be around 85-87 clicks.

Re: Schmidt&Bender to distance 1000m

Ok ,could only get 800m,angle to target was -1deg.wind speed was 9.7km/h 120deg left to right.58 clicks up 5 clicks left.Hitted the plate ,but not centre.Success rate about 70%,but it was a good experience!
