What do you prefer? I have to pickup some for my SS 5-20's. Always had Butler flips, but maybe bikin's would be easier. Honestly never really thought of till now.
I just mounted up my first tonight.. ordered on 5/18... got antsy and ordered a second on 6/16 just before the cutoff for the discount. Let me say you won't be dissappointed.
I scrapped my flip-open and got bikinis for my S&B 5-25x56 with 50 mm sunshade, had to cut off one of the rubber bands to make it fit.
Without cutting off the trianglular "junction" of the rubber band the butler bikini cover has at each side of the scope cap, I still have the possibility to knot in a 550 cord where the rubber band once was, if I feel the need for a non-elastic strap between the caps.
tied down the bikini with 55 cord, looks nice and I won't lose the cover.

Attach them to your scope with a paracord and problem solved. Doesn't seem to get in the way of anything either.
Rubber band or two slipped over the scope tube, capturing the bikini's bands. Slice rings off a skinny bicycle tube to make your band. Cut off a few more for your friends, and for some spares.
I only run one flip-cap on the backside of the PVS-22 and guess what, it's broke!
Greg, the bicycle tube bands are a great idea, I'm down to one bikini, having lost all the others.
That's the good thing about the killflash ARDs, they screw in so you can't lose 'em, help protect the objective lens, and at least in the case of the USO models, don't hurt brightness too much.

I too have tried this and it works well. For some reason I kept breaking the caps off and got tired of buying new ones.
The last 3 sets of flip caps that I have bought have now ALL been broken. When I had my NF-NXS, I opted for the flip ups vs. the bikini, and I hated that the eyepiece rotated and screwed with the flip up. When I broke the objective flip up, I went back to the bikini.
I will be using the bikini covers from now on and save myself the hassels and headaches!!

I tried the Butler Creek flip caps on my 50 mm nxs scopes, but the front didn't fit right and the rear always pi$$ed me off rotating around with the eyepiece. I went back to the bikini covers that came with them.
I bragged on the flip ups that came with the NF 2.5-10's for a while, until I broke the little push button off one last week.
Does anyone sell rubber bikinis like the NF that would fit bigass scopes like USO's?
I run flipups on the eyepiece and screw-in aluminums on the objectives. I have ARD's on too to keep crap from getting on lens, and just remove screwin an begining of day and pocket or drop in ruck.

I thought you only did that if you had a Counter Sniper scope

If you had secured the bikini to your scope body with a good tape or paracord that could not happen , neither to lost the bikini cover
The flip-ups covers are quite fragile , when opened they may give your position away and they make noise while opening too , so ...... GO bikini GO !

Flip ups are my choice. I have them on all my hunting rifles but for my old pre64 Model 70. Keeps optics cleaner and helps prevent rain and cloudy sights.
I've only used flip ups, Butler Creek's and USO's. The pins in the USO's always seem to creep out on me. I may try a hybrid with Butler Creek rubber slip on pieces and USO caps. That or I'll glue the pins in the plastic slip on pieces...
It would be nice to see USO make some aluminum covers similar to Leupold's Alumina covers.
I've never tried bikini covers, no real reason why, just never been excited about them.
