I am in the market for some glass to sit on a 22-250 squirrel gun. It may double for coyote duty in a pinch, but I have a 243 which will be dedicated to that. I am looking to stay in the $300-$400 range. I am interested in the Nikon Buckmasters 4.5-14x40 mildot, Falcon Menace 4-14 FFP, SS10X, and Vortex Viper HS series. I like the MIL/MIL setups, but only Falcon can offer it in this price range. The glass needs to be good enough to see ground squirrels at 400+ yards, and the scope must be durable and repeatable because I like to dial. I would just go with the Falcon, but I have heard some not so favorable opinions of them latley.

If you like to dial you may want to check out the Weaver GST mil/mil from midaway for 300 bones. Got a squeak at 180 yards with my 22lr this spring using one.

I'll throw another one in the mix for you there that I really like, the 4-16x42mm Nikon Monarch. 4-16x magnification is nice for varmints and I am really a fan of Nikon glass. If you go with a BDC reticle you can match your load with their Spot On software and get a full ballistic table printout and even all your holdover points. I like the SP as well, you can keep your eye behind the glass and adjust it without losing your sight picture when changing distances.
