Gents,

Need a bit of help here please. Has anyone used a Seeking '300WSM' size mag in an ASIC's bottom metal i.e. what is the difference or what needs to be opened up to allow this to happen (if at all)?

Looking at a project where the longer cartridge LOA allowed in the Seekin's mag would be useful.

Anyone have Seekin's 'WSM' mag to hand to measure as a last resort, cannot seem to get hold of anyone at Seekin's and this sort of detail's not available on thier web site.

Thanks in advance

Brgds English

Hi i will measure some up for you but wont be back intot he workshop until next monday havs all the Seekins mag sizes as we are his Agents here in Australia and also AI aw mags so i could compare it for you. there is a diference on how they engage Glen has a slot in the side of his likke an AR mag and the AI mags have the catch section i dont know if you will be able to do it but it might be possible if you silver solder a catch to the back of Glens machine the AI stock out and relocate the mag latch.

Re: Seekins mag inot an ASIC's well?

Not possible to interchange, they are completely different. The wsm magazine allows 3.14" of OAL.
We do make an AICS version that will take AI mags but the OAL is going to be whatever AI gives you. Send us a email if you have questions

Re: Seekins mag inot an ASIC's well?

Glenn,

Not expecting them to interchange as I realise they are different - but 'how' different?

It is the difference in OAL that I'm trying to utilise but in a short action stock that is currently set up for ASIC's size mags. If there is enough 'meat' in the current bottm metal than the option to open up is possible, but need to determine if there is actual 'enough'.

Cheers Terry

Re: Seekins mag inot an ASIC's well?

The width of the mag is .755 and length is 3.255

AI mag is .965 wide and 3.05 long.

The front of the mag would be positioned very close to the front of the AI mag you curently use so 95% of the length diferance will come out of the rear of your bottom metal.

Hope this helps
