The 26 pounds of weight will certainly help, but having shot calibers up through the .600 Nitro Express, I would not be brave enough to pull the trigger. Possible effects include pinched discs in the spine, pinched nerves in the neck, inner ear damage, and detached retina.

It's an antique black powder gun, most likely built for elephants or other dangerous game in another era. There were no 460 Weatherby's when this thing was used.

Yup. Back in the days of blackpowder, when blackpowder was the only kind of powder, the bigger the animal, the bigger the round. The powder will only burn so fast, so to compensate for the larger animal size, the round was made bigger.

The 4 bore was considered suitable for elephant and rhino, but the 2 bore should be capable of stopping anything that moves. It's kind of the .50BMG of today.
