The classical "sniper" in the olden days usually just fired once maybe twice before they moved on. In the modern day "target rich" enviorment high capacity magazines or semi-automatic rifles are preferd.

Just a silly question, would you build a "sniper" rifle ( should I just say Target rifle? ) on a single shot action? And use it as your main rifle?

Re: Single-shot rifle?

If it fits your needs then why not? Everyone on the Hide doesn't do the exact same shooting so everyone doesn't need the same exact setup. It's much wiser to build a rifle based on your specific utility rather than whats the most tacticool thing on the Hide.

Re: Single-shot rifle?

For my Any-sight/any rifle and iron-sight/any rifle 1000 yard matches I build asingle shot Model 70 in 300 WM.

It has a foam where the feeding ramp would be, just lay the round in close the bolt.

I haven't seen a reason for a mag for this rifle, but if you want to, just lay the next round in and let her rip. Its really quite fast. Smoother then a prom queen's thighs.
