Solid advice: 80% lowers and ATF

Hopefully this does not turn into a Bear Pit thread, but here is some good advice if anyone has 80% lowers considering what is currently taking place.

So, I, nor the writer of the article are saying the ATF is correct. The writer is giving a way to operate within the law and protect yourself. In my opinion it is a better solution than the BLM attitude of pull out a cell phone and film yourself provoking LE into having to do something. Apparently most here prefer the BLM method.

Remember, lying to federal agents is a crime too. It could turn out they have nothing with the policy change on 80% lowers and you would win that legal battle, but they will be happy to slap you with other charges if you have earned them. It would be more productive to write to Trump and ask him why his administration is doing this and tell him to fire someone.

Anyway, should have posted this in the Bear Pit. Sorry for being foolish enough to expecting an adult conversation on how to handle LE when you disagree with what they are doing.

The presence or absence of profanity has nothing to do with anything and you shouldn’t assess the quality of responses based on that.

As we have seen, government typically takes a “do as I say not as I do” approach to policy making so I’m sure you understand folks’ frustration at the unending govt hypocrisy and erosion of our rights.

Besides, this is purely an academic issue for Hide membership as none of us own this thing that the ATF is ranting and raving about anyway.

No one’s attacking you so no reason to be upset.

I wasn’t gonna read this but I did. While I assert that it is lawful for me to defend my self, family, property ect. by any means necessary, I also recognize you can’t shoot your way out of any situation.

Some people are better equipped to fight things in court rather than die on this hill. For those people proceeding under protest and getting a receipt is a good option.

Op shoulda known how tough everyone can be before they are actually talking to feds at the door. Feds gotta know that eventually everyone hits their breaking point and the constitution is written in common language to be understood by the individual as it’s the individual that will ultimately decide when his rights are being violated and/or when and/or how one takes action.

On that we agree. However, the bloviating YouTube "influencers" are taking a page out of Rahm Emanuel's playbook and "not letting a crisis go to waste..."

"Oh muh gerd! Thuh ATF is gonna bust down yer door and kill yer dog to get that one 80% lower you have in that shoe box on the top shelf in your closet! And, don't forget to like and subscribe so you can get more inane drivel every day. And tell your friends!"

Gotta get those likes. The NRA should be pleased. They follow the same model.
