is there any noticeable difference? I mean how does Southwest do it? Do they pick up the winchester brass and separate them by weight or is it just clean and prep them and whatever is there is simply there? Larue OBR is on the way and nightforce right in front of it so time to go to the range.

thanks

You would have to be quite a shooter to be able to see the difference in accuracy between two types of brass. I'm sure its miniscule, if any at all.

I've heard the neck tension is a little more consistent, but I doubt most of us shoot well enough, consistently enough, to see a difference in accuracy from different brass.

I think they are a little on the warm side. I went through a case earlier this year and found some ejector wipe on a number of cases. Primers were okay but I think depending on your conditions the pressure may jump a bit. They might be using RL15 or another temp sensitive powder. I don't really know, you should give them a call and ask, they are very helpful and friendly.

Buy two boxes and shoot it, report back results

I asked the same question about the 175's. Mike replied that the Lapua brass brass is made more consistently so I think the charges run more consistent and more reloads out of them.

I have seen some peole post groups of the regular SW stuff and it's impressive.

We actually use Hodgdon Extreme powders, which are very temperature insensitive.

Re: Southwest 155 scenar regular vs premium

Got my order a couple days ago:

Put 20 down the pipe to dial in dope. I had estimated dope via JBM and this ammo actually shot even flatter than I predicted. Flattest shooting ammo I have tried to date! Couldn't gauge accuracy real well yet (wind was gusting and only spent enough time at each distance from 400 to 700 yards to get data) But it looks to shoot as accurate as anything else I've tried. It seemed like the gun cleaned up faster than it does with other ammo as well... so far very pleased. Thanks guys!
