Kill them in the act, to protect people, sure. Kill them after the fact, no. Lets say you come on the scene but it had taken place in the US instead of there, and you see a bunch of dead people and a guy holding a gun, and you kill him. Good job. Now I come on the scene and see a bunch of dead people and YOU holding a gun, and I kill you. And on down the line. Those concealed carry people you speak of would be indistinguishable from the the bad guy in this case.

As long as nobody is in immmanent danger, I say slow down and sort things out, make sure you got the right guy, find out what his deal is, what makes him tick, so we can prevent future attacks, and then kill him legally, or put him in prison forever, whichever.

As far as his targets, A lot of the survivors had Muslim names. It sounds like that political party pandered to immigrants, and a lot of them were members. He targeted kids, which is not right. But I'll bet more of the people than you would expect were muslim, and the ones who were not were family of the people who let them in.

He probably didn't feel he could target the right group. There would be too much security. Also, liberals have a history of caving in to violent attacks.

The important thing to remember, is that this guy was wrong. But the problem he was agitated about isn't going away, and will kill far more people than he ever did.

We have 4,380 murders here in the US every year by immigrants. To say nothing of the rapes, assaults, robberies, and car accidents involving immigrants not licensed to drive. Why don't we care?

I know for sure that if someone showed the potential to attack my kids, I'd get out of politics.

Name calling doesn't help, and in the end you might be disrespecting someone who you end up meeting at a shooting match and he turns out to be a nice guy.

As I learned in Europe from drinking tea with a Turkish friend, you can have a very serious discussion, without resorting to disrespect.

Actually, they were lurking between lighted areas on a main shopping street, and I was sober and appropriate. They knew there was a ship (a LSD) in town, and that US marines and navy were there, and they were looking for a easy mark. How did they know I was a US Marine? They asked, and I replied in the affirmative. I guess they assumed I was drinking, like most were, but that night I didn't.
They were dressed in camo pants and looking for trouble. My experience in Beruit in 83 made me suspicious of young muslims in camoflage, so i was mentally prepared when they jumped.
Preying on foreigners is a common practice for violent and criminal elements in Europe. They know even if they get caught that you won't be back for a trial so they will walk. Then there was the marine Barracks in 83 that made a lasting impression on me too.

I attended Scout Sniper School at Ewa Beach Hawaii, in 1982. I was in the Marines from 79-88. I was on the USS Whitbey Island in Norway and Denmark (and Germany). I became a Bluenose on that cruise. I am also a Shellback from 3 Westpacs with 3/3. USS Bellau Wood, USS Peleliu, and USS Tarawa. I actually made Sniper's Hides, and occupied them. I even still have a couple Ghillie suits, and extra rolls of Jute in various colors, in footlockers in the garage.
