I have an excellent condition Steiner Military 4-16x50mm Mil-Dot G2B that I've been trying to sell for some time. Upon joining this group, I see that their values aren't what I expected. I understand this is an older scope, but its build quality and durable is second to none. Are these only worth $1k?

Yeah, they're a good bang for your buck for people looking for a great used scope. Same with older Vortex Razors.

That’s one downside about anything tech or electronic. As people innovate and technology move on, relics [even the great ones] get lost in the past.

Its a 10 year+ design, outdated undesirable reticle. Cant remember but does it have zero stop? Its been discontinued for a long time now. if anything happens its a paperweight like the old premiers.

Probably one of the best optics Steiner ever made. I had one a long time ago and liked it. Built like a tank.

They sold for about $1-1.3k back then. With inflation and devaluing of old optics $1K is probably about fair if not a tad high.

Let me see here, it's the size of a gen 2 razor, only has 16x on the top end, undesirabley thick reticle, and people want as much as for a used Cronus. 🤣🤣🤣

I sold my two 7 or 8 years ago for 1k each. No way woukd I drop 1k on one today.

I sent one to steiner that had hitch in its second rotation indicator. It was well after they had discounted them. They didn't fix it, but they looked at it and told me it wasn't broken. In my experice that's what steiner/burris cs does. I think you could cut one in half and they would send it back the first time with a clean bill of health. 🤣🤣🤣
