Substitute boolit suggestions for the 162 Amax in a 7-08?

Guess I've been under a fricking rock the last few months... I bought a few boxes of 162's from Natchez's a couple of months ago, not knowing that Hornady is no longer manufacturing them (hell, I'd have bought a truckload had I known...).

Apparently that was last gasp...

I did some load development initially with the 150 SMK (before going with the 162), and it shot cloverleafs at a couple of hundred yards- but it's BC pales in comparison to the Amax.

What are those of you in the same boat with a 7-08 using now for 1000 yard shooting? Should I just go back to the 150 SMK?

Appreciate any suggestions/loads...target application only.

If one of the Berger 168 VLD bullets shoot for you, problem solved. They interchange if you have the room they might need if wanting to be jammed. Powder space comes at a premium and for me they have 'interchanged'.
