Tactical Assault Gear (TAG) experiences?

What are others experiences with this company? Every time I have tried to order something from them it's been a big hassle.

Inaccurate product descriptions, charging the credit card for back ordered items with "undetermined delivery dates". Failure to return e-mails etc,.

Most recently they had a black Friday sale and it seems to me that they took a bunch of orders for products that they did not have in stock.

Anyone else experience this BS or am I just a unreasonable demanding asshole?

+1 I order stuff for my brother, who is seemingly always deployed, several times a year. Maybe 15 orders and never once had an issue

Im in the same boat for the black Friday sale. I ordered two hours after the sale started and just yesterday finally had my card charged. Friends and co-workers are getting all their gear and I cant even get an email response... I know its a good product and I cant complain too much it was a great sale, but I would like my gear or at least an idea about what going on.

I ordered twice from them both times were about a year ago. Both orders were handled well and I was very pleased. The first order was partly backordered but was shipped complete within a few weeks with no extra shipping just as they said it would.

I have heard of some bad experiences but mine was good.

Great gear from my experience, never had a problem ordering from them directly, and I like the fact that they have a custom shop, just call them up tell them what you want and they can give you a price est right then. Though I have noticed that optics planet has a lot of their stuff in stock and is usually cheaper.

Just an update to my previous post. Today I contacted TAG customer service because the plate carrier that I purchased is too big for me and isn't exactly what I was looking for. I spoke with a customer service rep. named Jonathan and explained my situation. I was fully expecting to pay return shipping and a 15% restocking fee as stated in their return policy (especially since I bought this stuff for 35%-%50 off). Not the case. Instead, he waived the 15%, is sending Fed Ex to my house to pick up the items and is replacing them with a chest rig that will better suit my needs! He spent over a half hour on the phone with me to explain the differences in their products, etc... Needless to say this was very positive experience

Multiple orders and no issues here. Black Friday sale rocked. They were recently bought out and are now out of North Carolina, not San Diego. (Though I think they still have a retail store in the SD area.)

I ordered a plate carrier with them just before Christmas and received a "partially shipped" notification days later. Then it didn't actually ship for another 8 days. When I received it, I got all of the accessories I bought for the plate carrier but no plate carrier. That must have been the "partial" part. I emailed them. No response. I waited a couple days, and called. The woman I talked to sounded less than happy to be on the phone answering a question. I inquired when it would be and she said, sometime next month possibly.

I really wanted the vest, but so far, nothing. I am thinking of cancelling and buying something in stock. Glad others have had good luck. Guess I caught them at a bad time.

I am still waiting on part of my order from Black Friday. That being said, I love their products. I think they are filling some contracts, and that is why they ship some stuff slow. I talked to Jennifer several times about sending in a chest rig to their custom shop for modification, and I have yet to receive an order # due to them working on larger projects.

I haven't been able to get any response concerning a Cobra buckle belt ordered on black friday. In early December, I was told by Jennifer on the phone the belts would be shipping in 1-2 weeks. I've since sent 3 emails and called an additional 2 times. Emails were ignored and the two times I called I've been told "there's no one in the office that can help you right now" or "our system is down and we can't pull up your order"

I've heard the products are nice, but it's too bad they're going to piss away their reputation. I will NEVER order from them again, and I regret not going with Jones Tactical or Volund from the start.

I called again the other day and talked to someone who told me the Banshee plate carriers would be going into QC on Friday possibly and shipping Monday or Tuesday. Its now Friday and I have seen nor heard. I have sent 3 emails with them all being ignored. I am going to call tomorrow and if I get any answer other than "It shipped today. Here's your tracking number" I am cancelling the Banshee and going with someone else who actually understands customer service.
