So I have attempted to ignore my impulses to run out and jump on the tavor band wagon over the past year or so but with the introduction of recent aftermarket support (giessele & others) I am afraid I I can't ignore my curiosity any longer. Lately I have been digging through all the threads I could find as well as watching you tube reviews, range reports, and tutorials.

The tavor seems accurate enough for its intended purpose ..... Basically a 2 moa rifle. Some report much worse, some much better. Just wanted to hear a few reports on what YOUR experience has been when trying to gain a base line on the accurate capabilities of the tavor.

The second aspect I am a bit confused about is the recoil and muzzle movment of the tavor. Most users seem to claim that the tavor has a very soft recoil impulse even compared to an ar15. When I watch videos of most shooters, the weapon seems to be beating them. Iam seeing Muzzle movment all over the place and shoulders, hair and faces seem to be whipped about with every round sent down range. Of coarse this is just a bunch of you tube videos I was watching and attempting to gauge the behavior of the weapon through. Maybe they were just videos done by new shooters, not sure. Okay, that was a little dramatic. i have seen a few videos of professional shooters along wit the usual you tube gun community personalities shooting the tavor just dandy but the weapon does seem to "buck" a bit more than most 556 rifles. Again, this is just me in front of the computer speculating on something i have no experience on. please correct me. more How would YOU describe the recoil characteristics of the tavor? How about muzzle movement and general shootability?

I am about to sell one of my favorite/better ar builds to fund the tavor .... So ANY info on the performance and your genreral satisfaction of the tavor is GREATLY apreitiated! Thanks in advance.

I have a love / hate relationship with my Tavor. I love the rifle but hate the trigger but Shooting Sight has that problem covered this month....

Any word on Art's trigger?

I cannot do any serious accuracy testing because my trigger is honestly +10 lbs and the worst trigger ever put on a firearm IMHO.

Recoil is subjective and depends on the individual , stance and shooting position. I am 6'2" & 245Lbs., a pretty stable weapon platform and I really do not notice anything out of the norm firing the Tavor. Its a funky gun to fire off bags on the bench. I am waiting for a replacement trigger pack and a Breakout AAC mount for my suppressor before I seriously put some rounds thru it. I could fire this thing all day without discomfort ( except the trigger ).

Very mild recoil and a joy to fire offhand.

I have one in original config. A buddy had one with a cheap comp on it and it was significantly softer to shoot. Shooting mine side by side against a Bushmaster ACR with the same ammo was eye opening, the ACR's recoil impulse felt clunky and long, but the Tavor was softer and very smooth. Also shot it side by side with a friend's comp'd AK-74, and the 74 was softer. Overall I would rate the Tavor's recoil similar to that of an AR, but VERY dependent on what type of muzzle device you have hanging off the barrel.

Accuracy: mine seems accurate but the trigger makes it difficult to realize that accuracy. It's a decent closer range gun; I wouldn't use it in a DMR match.

I find that the trigger is acceptable just as is - as a combat rifle. I shoot it suppressed exclusively and have a package shorter suppressed that my standard AR's. I run a visible green OTAL and a 2moa Aimpoint micro with an Insight light. With the recoil issue and getting back on target I find it to be easy and excellent. 1-1.5 moa running IMI 62 gr green tip. green laser in low light just pull the trigger and dump the mag onto a 5" plate from the hip at 50 yards - hoot. With the Aimpoint and trigger control management I easily hit chest size rocks @ 600 yds with holdover, using usually only one bullet strike to determine amount of hold over, then whack, whack.

zero malfunctions, have not cleaned it with over 500 rds through it so far...

I have a ton of ammo, 50 gen 3 mags and do not intend to part with this little puppy - in fact have sold off most of my my other AR's and this now my go to gun. I totally agree with the IMF...this thing is my "HAMMER"

3 feet to 600 yds, totally does all I want in a 556 platform.

BTW, I do not sell or rep for IMI

This is all good stuff thanks guys! Keep the info flowing.
I guess the tavor with its light front end might be a bit more dependent on a decent muzzle device than more traditional rifles.

Just to be clear, I am not "getting out" of ar15 platform in any way. Just selling one to raise funds for a tavor. The one up for sale is just a really nice one hence will generate the most revenue. But if what I am hearing is correct, the tavor will not disappoint.
