This was a first-run private competition held a hour South of Dallas. The land owner and organizer wish to remain anonymous because they are just trying to gauge what kind of response they will get. They are trying to see if it would be worth the cost and planning for a full sized competition.

The lay of the land works very well and targets were set out just short of 1100 yards. There was a lot of positional shooting that made it a lot of fun. I RO’ed this match and it is a safe set up. Here are some pics and vids from match:

As you can see there were lots of stages and it was a fun shoot. Lodging is available on site. The organizers are watching this thread so post if you are interested in shooting a match like this an hour from Dallas.

Re: Texas Shoot and possible future competition site.

This was a great shoot! There were some new twists shooting different targets that I hadn't seen before. It was awesome!

This was me shooting in this video. This was at 270 yards. You have to send the round before the target is visible to make a hit. The goal is to make a full rotation. This was a great stage! Next time, it needs to be at 400+!!

Geordie's cackle after your first shot makes me laugh every damn time I hear it.

Re: Texas Shoot and possible future competition site.

Would anyone be against a noob showing up. I would just like to get the chance to LEARN to shoot at that distance, and watch?

Re: Texas Shoot and possible future competition site.

This is a great place to work on any skill set you want to train on. No doubt there is alot of interest in having a big match. The host can make that decision I was just glad to be a part small but tite group of shooters that were there. Which by the way 18 yr old Patrick put the wooop on all of us. That made his day but I can't let that happen again.

ha ha ha ! Oh I got plans for a Red River Shoot Out !!! 10 of your best against 10 of ours. On neutral grounds if we can get Badlands Bobby to host us a match.... You guys are welcome to come down for a Texas Train-up/ ass whooping anytime, nothing I enjoy more than shoot against you guys... Funny thing is , as a former okie myself I'm still a huge OU football fan and can't stand Texas or A&M.

Count me in, it looks like a great place. An added bonus being that we have family in Frisco. Looking forward to this.
