The Fix from Q

I put the MPA vert grip. Modified it a little with a dremel and sand paper. Love it.

How about that chassis, gentlemen????? looks so sick!

@Movistar Q made tool for the fix, it has 4 teeth to grab the barrel nut instead of 3. I posted a pic of it a page or two back.

@Scotch_egg So far I’ve had good luck with maintaining zero when I’ve done my barrel swaps. I think I’ve done about a dozen swaps so far.

@Gotlag1789 Vert grip looks good. I’ve been debating getting one to try, but haven’t ran one before. Hogue’s just fit my hand so well. Did you paint your rifle too?

Anyone else had issues with swivels pulling out of the q qd sling mount?

When locked in it will hold until you turn it a little then it completely let's go
So I’ve had ever QD Mount I’ve ever known so that. It’s like you’re giving it a little pressure and it’s letting the bearings in just a little or something. I think it might the male part of your QD not the female because I have one that is more succeptible than others that have.

Are you running the QD mount in the hole closest to the magwell on the handguard? When I tried to run mine in the furthest rear position, my QD would hit the barrel tennon and wouldn't completely engage.

I haven't had any problems when I moved it one slot forward. This was with a Blue Force/Vickers sling.

No barrel clearance issue. It's 0/4 with the qd's that Magpul uses on their slings. The one I the buttstock holds fine though.

It appears the slots in the adapter are too small for the ball bearings on the swivel. I'll have to see what others I have laying around

The fix is fantastic but does it ever expose your flaws...spent some time zeroing rifles today. Finished the day with my fix at 100 and then 250 yards

Not yet but I’m really pissed off after importing a Fix to the U.K. to find it doesn’t work with the proof research barrel.

What a waste of $49 plus the export and import cost.

I’ve had many different QD mounts that didn’t like certain swivels. I had a 308 AR take a hard fall due to a swivel pulling out under the weight of the rifle. Learned from that to test each and every one.

I’m sorry man. I am NOT exaggerating. I’ve had 20 PMs about it. A good dude that I’ve dealt with before was smart enough to say “I’ll take it” before anyone else could. Maybe I should have asked for more haha. Extensions are made of unicorn horns and are worth their weight in unobtanium I guess.

This is why I ordered 2 spare barrels at the time of buying my rifle. A Bartlein .308 for $650 including the extension seems a bit of a bargain now. Just wish I had picked up a second 20” 6.5 creedmoor as well as the 24” proof

Shot my 22 inch Q barrel this weekend. 800 yards is easy. Literally it’s like ding ding ding. Over and over. I hate shooting factory ammo because It’s expensive. This sig ammo was quite interesting though. Only $1 per round and It uses a 140 SMK and the SD wasn’t bad for factory ammo. Wasn’t anything near my hand loads in the Proof barrel either though. 2663 avg out of a 22. I’d expected it to be faster as the 142 SMK does 2600 out of the Proof 16.5 barrel.

Took my fix too the range. I can’t decide if the Proof barrel prefers 147gr or 140gr factory Hornady Match ammo better. Both photos are the Hornady 147gr Match ammo. The 100yd target shows my 5 round sighter to adjust from the Hornady 140gr. The bottom right group I realized I was fighting mirage from the barrel when the wind stopped, there should be 5 rounds there, not sure if one went astray, or I put two in the same hole.
I’m leaning towards the Hornady 147s, since they performed almost on par with the Federal 147 gold medal which shot phenomenal, I just can’t afford $40 a box locally for the federal.
I did switch to a Spuhr mount, which I do like better than the Warne rings I had.

Sling mounts for Big barrels are done, my buddy dropped some off
I just got my paws on one of these sling mounts from WM and I'm pretty sure the hand guard will fail before this mount does. I didn't have full confidence in the Q version, so this is well received. Not rocket science, but a well made piece of equipment adding to my piece of mind. Thanks WM.

Proof has been on record as saying their barrels prefer the 147 and 140 ELDs but mine shot the 142 SMK equally as good.

I just passed the 9 month mark waiting for mine with the 6.5 Proof barrel. Q is pointing towards Proof as the hold-up.....

I have seen quite a few come up for sale in the secondary market as well as online vendors and places like gunbroker recently, so my advice to anyone would be to spend the extra $100 or whatever it takes to get your rifle in days rather than months/a year. Unless you are specifically looking for a Proof (as you are), you are pretty much guaranteed to see one pop up for sale before you would receive a rifle ordered directly from Q or through a local FFL.

Maybe Proof is the issue but I don't know about that. I have heard that how they prioritize their shipments is a little wonky and does not favor the individual customer who pays in full at time of order.
